Dell 1905FP

I have one coming soon and I've read an quite a few negative comments about pretty bad ghosting on it even whem scrolling through websites.
Can any actual user confirm this ?

The 1905's look like nice monitors. It looks pretty comparable to the 1901 which is what I have and I can't say I notice all the much ghosting. However if you are used to gaming on a crt and you're making the switch to gaming on a flat panel you will see a difference. It bothered me a little at first but now I hardly notice it. The colors look a lot more vibrant on the lcd which more than makes up for the different feel to your games.

During my brief 1905 ownership, I felt it was a bit washed out colorwise. Those whole screen had a yellowish/pale tint to it. Probably this can be solved with some tinkering in the driver software, but my subsequent 2005, and my other monitor, the dell e173p both looked pretty good out of the box, so it was a bit annoying.

And if you check 1905 threads, many many people (including me) complain about ghosting, unsuprising since it has a 20-25 ms PVA panel. So it's only good for 2d work.

Both of my 30ms 1800FP's have zero ghosting, so response times should be taken with a grain of salt.

I love my 1905! I am not a gamer, and haven't noticed any issues that bother me at all about this monitor. I have only used the DVI connection -- no dead pixels, not even sure what "bad" ghosting looks like, but I don't have any problems with scrolling web pages, etc. It is friggin' bright as shipped, though. I have to cut back the brightness to 38-50%, depending how bright the room is to get a pure white.

I came very close to buying another a few days ago when they were $300, but I passed. Saving for a notebook instead.

I have both the 1901 and the 1905. They look different, the 1905 is slightly more bright than the 1901 which gives the "washed out" look. As for general web surfing and project making (I'm not a gamer) they performance is more than satisfactory. Given now it can be had for $299+tax, it is a great unit to have.
