I ordered something from Dell at the end of August, got them to fill out 2 of those cancellation forms, and they still shipped. I refused the shipment and still waiting for Dell to ackowledge my return. The CSR said it takes about a week for the product to be shipped back to them, and another 7-10 business days to go through the system. :disgust:

It is not that great of a deal with one rebate. I got a 200 gig drive(Same Drive) from BB about 3 weeks ago for $200 with a $100 rebate. I think both of these rebates will work. Why else would they have pulled the drives so quickly? The only problem I see is the date of the receipt. The first rebate expires on drives purchased after the 28th. What is the policy for rebates when ordering from Dell and they do not ship until after the rebate has expired?

I was told by one of the YA CSR's that I can send in both rebates in one envelope and have them both accepted.

the problem now is that dell will not ship these drives for those of us who ordered via standard shipping. one person ordered via the next day option and it was shipped. i doubt dell would want to ship these drives and lose money. they would probably delay these drives intentionally and make us miss our rebates then cancel all the orders.

or it can be like last time with the WD1200JB where they honored them anyway. who knows. no words from dell yet

I think they will ship the drives, since many people are cancelling orders, just like I did.

I ordered my drive Thursday night along with a Radeon 9600 pro. Total shipped was 368.00 After the 10 percent off and a $25 coupon, and hopefully I get both items for 168 AR. The Radeon shipped Friday and I received on Monday although the website stated that it would ship in 5-7 days. The hard drive has not shipped yet, although it said it would ship same day.

I made the order around 9:30 pm CST Thursday Night.

Anyone have their hard drive ship out yet, and if you did what day and time did you place your order?

Good Luck to everyone who got in on this deal.

Got an EMAIL today saying shipdate should be 10/9 ... but everyone knows how dell never sticks to these....

yeah one-time i ordered an 80gb seagate barracuda because my 40gb maxtor died, and called them the next day to check on the status and they said the order had been canceled or was not in their system so i re-order the item and they end up shipping me 2 80gb seagate barracuda's (and of course charging me twice)

My wife ordered one for herself and it came today. It says estimated ship date is today and it's here already. I also cancelled the order on Sept. 27 and it still ships. This is ridiculous. I did not expect it to come today and I opened the packing box. The rebate center insist on both rebates being valid but WD has confirmed that only one is valid. So gotta to return it.

if my drive comes i'll stick with it and mai lin the rebates... i mean we got all the documents and either dell or WD is gonna cough up the $100 that was promised.

i guess this is the difference between anandtech bargain hunters and chubby waller's.... they are a lot more hard core...

me, im going to stick with it. if dell/WD only honor one rebate i'll dispute it with AMEX...

I think the way to do this is to be dumb and stubborn, ie Dell web site I ordered from said $200 in rebates, and Dell NEVER notified me of any change in terms, so I want my rebate or my money back, and yes I have been using the drive all this time yada yada.

No one wants to say it so Iwill,...I say to everyone involved ...lets come togeather and form a Group and call our selves "CLASS" Then lets all move togeather in a form called "ACTION" Then mabe we could all address the "LAW"...and then maybe we could get together in our finnest "SUIT"s..........CB

I placed an order fort this item, with normal shipping on 9/26 and received an acknowledgement on 9/27. They finally confirmed my order on 10/1 and totally resolved the rebate issues.

The order date was changed to 10/1 making it impossible to claim one of the rebates!

can anybody post a screen shot of when it said "up to $200 in rebates" on the dell website. I got the rebates and the hard drives on its way, but I forgot to take a screen shot and I want to have all the ammo I can in case they hassle me. I'd really appreciate it, thanks.

My reply to Dell's email message;





The rebates were not duplicate as the proof of purchase requirements were different for both. If the 2 rebates were "exactly" the same as in "duplicate" I would not have ordered the drive.. Dell made a crystal clear representation specifically aimed at inducing people to buy this drive. Additionally I took a bit of time and have written confirmation of the intent to honor both rebates. I retained both hard copies and "saved to disk" copies of the exact offer and rebates. My time consumed in this matter is valuable and I do not wish to lose it.

As far as I am concerned there were no mistaken assumptions regarding this order. If I must take the time to prepare letters and documents to forward to applicable state attorney generals I will be extremely upset.

I bought a Dell desktop in the past and the inducement was the rebate. Perhaps Dell would like me to refund the rebate after the fact because they decided they did not like it?
