Anyone know what state these monitors ship from?
Having had both a 25ms LCD and now this 2001FP, I'd say that 25ms is hardly subpar for gaming and movies. I don't think I would be able to tell the difference if I were paid to. That said, this *is* a gorgeous monitor.

Further proving the 2001fp may only have a 25ms response time? Have we all been duped? Or is it just a typo? I'm just playing devil's advocate here, I'm surely hoping for the latter.

If you got it, would you know what the response time is (without looking) in the manual? If not, what difference does it make?

I would know from my uses with the 1901FP through a host of aps @ 25ms from games to ect. ... 16 ms would have to be an improvement from were my monitor would lack...This wuold tell me if it were the same that it indeed would have to be 25ms not 16ms improvement!

Got mine. Very easy to install. I use the DVI connection. Just power up computer and monitor, select DVI input on the monitor, and evergthing is set. This one is made in April 2004 by Benq (China). No dead pixels so far.

I got it $712 shipped. Used ent book $50 coupon, 2% off when applying dell credit card, 3% fatcash rebate. So 29% off. Hope I'll like it given mixed reviews.
Someone has given this monitor a mixed review?
Blasphemy!
the 'graininess'/screen door effect when viewing grays and whites is the only significant negative, but it is easy to get used to (kind of pleasant actually)

What causes the graininess? I've had my 2001FP for about a month and that is the only quirk I've noticed about it. I'm glad to know it's not a defect with my monitor or anything. It was kind of odd to see it, as I upgraded from a Viewsonic 18.1" LCD and that panel did not have the graniness.
But you're absolutely right; it's only slightly evident when viewing certain pages/colors and even then you don't notice it after a minute. It's certainly not as evident as the 2 horizontal lines in Trinitron or other aperture grille CRT's.
Even so, I'm sure there are some nitpickers who cannot stand to have anything less than a "perfect" panel (and I don't think one exists yet). For the price, I'm pretty confident that the Dell is the best available right now. The size and response time are excellent!
I'd also like to say that I've played several games on this panel, and none have exhibited the slightest bit of ghosting. The Viewsonic 18.1" had slight ghosting in some games and this panel is definitely better in that aspect.
