- UPDATE !!! - Dell has placed the 2001FP LCD monitor on sale again thru February 9th !!!
While there were a number of reports of backlight issues with the Oct 03 and earlier initial production run (Dec monitor sale), there have been very few reports of backlighting problems with monitors received after mid-December (late Oct 03 run, Nov 03 and later LCDs). The number of reported dead/stuck pixels has dropped from 5-10 per online report, to an average of 1-3 pixel problems for those reporting such problems. Many/most report no dead or stuck pixels. Under Dell's 30-day Customer Total Satisfaction Guarantee, you can exchange or return the monitor without any restocking fees for any reason within thirty days of the shipping date, since the 2001FP monitor is a Dell branded peripheral. One individual reported making four exchanges for dead/stuck pixels, another was offered a new replacement when they called about one dead pixel! (linked).
NOTE: If you know of any additional information and/or links that should be added, please post below, PM, or email me the information/links. I plan on creating a Video Reference thread with the information collected. Thanks!
