I'm still trying to figure out if I should get in on this deal....

How long do you think it will be before a deal like this comes along again?

Picked mine up at UPS today and just hooked it up.
I haven't noticed any dead or stuck pixels yet. It does have a kind of grainy look to it. I am running it at 1600X1200X32 bit @ 60 hertz.
The backlighting looks fine, no problems there.
Off to Google to see if I can find some kind of program that will run this test this monitor out.

I believe it runs best @ 24 bit. For the response time to reach 16ms, it has to be set at that. Continue looking for info. and let me know what you find.

Well, the 2001fp can run 1600x1200 whereas the 1901fp cannot. You get a lot more screen real estate.

...yup, I'll get one sooner and not later hopefully...but not right now. I love my 19" too so I'm not gonna sell it just to get the 20".

16 and 32 are the only options available. I used MonitorsDirect Calibrator to check out the screen. I didn't see any obvious stuck or dead pixels.

If you have $800 and feel the need/urgent want for a new screen, get it. If not, don't. It's quite simple really. And the deal will come around again soon enough I'm sure.

Got one yesterday. Excellent LCD - period.
Before I had Dell-Samsung 19" and this one is just incredible.

1600X1200, 20.1"VIS and low response time make a huge difference.

Anyone else know of any good deals on these Dell LCDs? I could really use the help, as I need to replace mine soon.

Thanks.

You could try ebay. There are a few selling for about $760, but you get jacked with a $56 shipping and handling fee. Still not a bad deal.

Well, I'd like to get one new with a new warranty and all, and then I could get it financed if I get it directly from Dell..

I recently bought this LCD to use primarily as a gaming monitor.

But i have run into a hitch.

Ghosting!

Now i know ghosting has alway been an issue with LCDs but according to Anandtech review and many members here this monitor is suppose to have no noticeable ghosting. Yes i have distinct blurring when ever i move the the mouse quickly (more noticeable in CS, less so in DoD). Its not ghosting as i have seen in most LCDs but more like the screen goes out of focus and then becomes sharp again when i stop the movement.

I was wondering if had some setting that is wrong or maybe i got a faulty unit. Anyways are there any setting issue that i should be aware of?

Akaz

PS. i am using DVI cable that came with the monitor and my system specs are in my sig (except that my OS is now XP)

Well,

I broke down and bought one of these monitors during that last run that happend around Xmas. I have a 2000FP at my work and there is no comparison between the two monitors. The 2001FP is sleaker, brighter, and the colors are much more vibrant. I do not notice any light leaks or dead pixels. I play UT2003 and Shadowbane and have yet to notice ghosting or any problems through hardcore gaming. I run it DVI through my ATI 9500Pro. My wife was shocked at how vibrant the colors were. Since I live in Alaska I had to pay for overnight shipping, but when Dell shipped the monitor it took five days to get to me. I was promptly refunded the entire shipping costs.
