How often do these 25% deals come around on the 2001fp? I think I'll wait till the next one to jump on. I heard they happen quite frequently on dell lcd's but I was wondering on exact time frame.

Its been almost every other week for 2 months or so now.

I actually haven't seen the 750 deal for about 1 month. But in between theres some 10 percent, 15% and even 20% off deals on the LCD. So i think it comes every 1 or 2 months.

oh yeah you are right...maybe it was before that, but i know its not always every 2 weeks. But i was hoping to get a 19 or 18 " on sale again.

They are running deals on the refurb's now, $100 off the 2001fb, brings it down to $698 + $14 shipping. They come with a 90 warranty.

Got mine yesterday. They said it may not ship till the 19th, but it was on its way the 14th, got it setup and this thing is huge! Almost too big, if there is such a thing. No dead pixels. Now I need to get my games reinstalled and see how it handles.

Can anyone provoide some insight on what the risks are with purchasing a refurbished 2001FP from Dell? A shorter warrenty? More likely to have dead pixels?

Also, I read something once about newer and older models of the 2001FP. Is this true and is there any performance difference?

I like the idea of saving $250, but not if it means my monitor is less then perfect.

teongkee, I've got an 18.1" Viewsonic for sale in a week or two. My ex g/f trashed my old one, so I RMA'd it, and Viewsonic is sending me a new one. I couldn't wait for it to come back so I went ahead and bought a Dell 2001FP. The Viewsonic is a VG800...interested?

Took a risk and ordered a refurb 2001FP ($698 + tax + $14 shipping) Tuesday night 11 p.m. Got it delivered Friday 1 p.m. (62 hrs) via Airborne Express.

Got one stuck on green pixel with black background. No visible dead/stuck pixel on white background. Other than that, it works/looks great. Manufactured Nov 2003.

I paid $770 for a brand new one on eBay. Maybe it's just me, but for $70 I'd rather have the peace of mind of a new one. $70 may seem like a lot but hey, if you're already spending $700......

Sorry you've had bad luck. I've done almost 300 transactions on there and the worst that's happened to me is that a couple bidders have backed out. I :heart: eBay!

Yea, it's a great gaming LCD. If you read the Anandtech review of it, it has a 16ms response time.
