Last time Dell ran the $799 special on this monitor (early-mid December mayhaps?) I saw some people complain about bright spots or areas on the display and decided to hold off buying one. Has this problem been debunked or resolved in current units?

I went from a Mitsubishi DiamondPro 19" CRT to this, and I'll never go back. Mmmmmm..... 20.6 inches of LCD heaven.

I've messed with really good LCD and there nice but not sure there worth the price. I've also never seen a person use them for graphics work due to there problems with colors.

Without being overly rude, anyone with the money to spend on an LCD like this probably doesn't put much stock in the opinions of people who can't differentiate between they're, their, and there (BTW, you're 0 for 3).

In on-topic news, I ordered on Fri night, and got shipping notification this morning. Still waiting on tracking info.

Well, if you noodle it out, spelling "Nazis" are much more fastidious individuals than you are, therefore they are more likely to educate themselves on various issues, technology being one possible such issue.

Nice attempt to recover but you got pwned

LOL...pwned...right, in ten years we will all be using LCD or something like it and they will be bigger, brighter and much cheaper. Maybe by then they will up to snuff for graphics departments to use.

PS: I DO NOT CHECK MY POST FOR SPELLING MISTAKES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, if you work in a graphics department, I don't recommend you get this LCD, however Eizo has some very nice models for you to consider, in both LCD and CRTs priced above the $2000 mark. Anyways, most of us aren't graphic artists\designers, but since you are, don't get this monitor. And if aren't a graphic artist, please quit trying to discourage people from buying a GREAT monitor that you know NOTHING about, just because you can't afford it....

I'm done.

I never discouraged people from buying it, I only pointed out that CRT is cheap and great picture quality if you have the space.

I ordered Friday and received it yesterday (Tuesday) morning.

No bum pixles, rev a00, a lot of backlight bleed both in the top right, two on top left, and one on bottom left. I'll try watching a DVD and see how I like it. It's really noticeable on black screens (like when you're booting).

Compare the quality of this LCD with your CRTs after running at its natural resolution (1600x1200 for the 2001fp) using DVI, and ClearType if you have WinXP and you'll see the difference. It's more than just having more desktop space. The quality is just incredible. And heck, if you spend most of your time staring at a monitor, might be worth it to splurge.

Now does anybody know if the 15% coupon Dell sent on Monday is stackable with this deal?
