Ok, I've had a Dell 2001FP hooked up to my new rig for a couple months, and aside from problems with the monitor coming back from powersave mode in DVI and occasional screen blanking, I've noticed some strange pixel "flickering" in a horizontal fashion in some circumstances. I can always recreate the problem by following these steps:
1. Open IE in a non-maximized window
2. go to http://premiersupport.dell.com/
3. open any window and place it to the right of the IE window (eg, my aim window is always on the right)
4. Bring the IE window into 'focus' (not necessary, but makes the problem more visible)
now i see two horizontal lines of pixels that align with the black lines above and below the area that contains links to "My Account" and "My Order Status" that shoot off to the right of the IE window and over any windows to the right... Sounds weird, right? These pixels shimmer with a light-blue color, but they do not record into screenshots. Even stranger, the screenshots exhibit the same behavior! (but the screenshots do not save a picture of the problem, only produce it)
Also, sometimes I get flickering pixels in the minimize, maximize and close buttons of certain windows.
Oh, I'm using a eVGA 6800GT (pci-e) with Vstudios Xtreme G Quality ForceWare 71.20 drivers
Anyway, just trying to see if anyone else has heard of this problem as I have not been able to find anything on it.
BTW, I do not recommend Dell anymore. After this monitor and owning a Dell laptop (which went through a motherboard and 2 hard drives) I simply cannot and will not recommend them.
