for all of you who had it, how big and how heavy is it (including the dell packaging box) ? i'm planning to take it abroad to other country (only one obviously), but does it make sense ? this is serious, i'm not joking guys , so pls give me some thought about it...

Box was like 2'x2x'2' and weighed about 15-20 lbs.

last question..anyone know what their return policy is on LCD's...I know its 25 days, but who pays the shipping? The customer probably pays to return the defected model, but for the one they resend...does the customer pay for that?

Don't hold me to it but I am sure they will foot the bill for shipping to you and I think they even pay for shipping back to them. They will just send you a prepaid label. That is how they have done in the past for me.

Mine is on order from dell, should be in here in a few days. USPS tracking says 24.10 pounds. Pretty big to be taking abroad, not to mention potential questions at customs and problems converting foreign power (though I'd assume the moniter's power source will handle any standard voltage).

They will if you are returning it for a replacement. If you just dont like it, then you still have to pay for shipping.

If you take it outside the US, u'll have to pay customs and excise duties in that particular country (can be as high as 30-40% og the original value of the product...). Moreover i don't think these monitors are designed to handle voltages other than 110V (as far as the US goes)

it's my understanding that if i brought it myself thru the public flight service (i take it with me on the flight to that particular country, without delivery service such as dsl / fedex) i don't get customs and excise duties (at least in that country where i'm going). I might be wrong though.....

dang, that 110v i forgot , my inspiron had a dual voltage adapter though, thanx for reminding me, so much that i haven't thought yet.

anyone that owned it, could you please take a look at it, and tell me does it able to do 220v ?

Since the day i watched my first anime cartoon on this monitor widescreen, well, worth every penny!!!! If I can ever get another one for $380 again, i'll probably get a second. No backlight problems, not one dead pixel, i guess i got lucky. =)

And the 2005fp rotates, and is also height adjustable.


$435 is pretty good. For the montior you are getting, it's SMOKING.

I grabbed one @ 374 with Dell prefered, which was smoking. Don't see sub $400 very often.

AC input voltage / frequency / current 100 to 240 VAC / 50 or 60 Hz + 3 Hz / 2.0A (Max.)

I have my 2001FP plugged into 220VAC right now.

As far as customs, i have never had to pay customs for anything when i had only one of them. I have travelled in virtually every european country and further, so i would think unless you pick some really backwoods country, youll be ok. I allways carry my gadgets, and most of the time, parts for my customers.

Dell just extended the deal till the 14th. Retry. You don't need to be logged in to apply the coupons.
