I was just talking with my buddy who bought 3 of these when they were just over $500.00 and he has just about convinced me to get one. I have a 19" samsung monitor that I like but it hasn't pleased my how I wanted it to. This deal still seems to be alive and well.

I'm about to buy this monitor but I am being charged tax.... I'm in New York... I didn't think I'd be charged tax??? Please let me know.

I would think that anywhere that Dell has retail outlets or distribution centers than they would have to charge tax, so I am guessing they have something based in New York.

Think it just ended, I passed for now because of all the QC issues Dell has been having with these.

I just checked and Dell lowered the price by $25 right after the coupoons quit working. I thought someone could get it for close to $400.

I just got in on the deal yesterday (7/13). I used gottadeal.com for the coupon codes and I did have to pay tax.... Shipped today!

I got mine on Monday. Backlight bleeding from all four corners - used the chat option for an exchange. But yes, the monitor is worth the price if it reaches your doorstop without any defects. I'll have enough time for another exchange in case the second one is also messed up. If all fails, I'll return it. Meanwhile, I have tested some of the features - connected my Satellite Dish's S-video out to the monitor and the picture is amazing. I get an edge-to-edge picture for most channels. Colors are overwhelming, but the bleed is annoying. If anyone of you must exchange yours, use the chat option.

I probably should have jumped on this - it's the only monitor I like, but I can't seem to part with my Diamondtron 21" Mitsu CRT... suggestions for getting rid of this thing? lol...

I missed out on this sweet deal. The price of this monitor is back up to $501 US. Now I'll either have to wait another month for the next hot deal or else bite the bullet and get the Viewsonic VP191b.

Decisions, decisions... :roll:

from what i have heard there will be a "end of quarter sale" at the end of this month...

should be significant savings or at least it has been in other "end of quarter sales"

All exchanges must be done within 21 days - usually, we can exchange the monitor 3-4 times during that period. But to be on the safe side, do it three times, and if you don't like it then, just return it. For chat option, login to your account, and on the main page look @ the lower right hand corner of the page. If you can't find it there, just search for it. You need to talk to a technical assistant first, and then to a sales associate. The technical assistant will give you all the required links and info (make sure you list an email that is current, because DELL will email you the log of the chat session).

Just as a side note: LCD's are categorized under Portables. So use the chat link for Portable Technical Assistance (I think it's the second option).

When you exchange who pays for shipping back the bad one?
And if your new one that comes is worse then the one you have can you keep the best one?

All the shipping charges are incurred by DELL. You can keep the model that according to you is better. If you don't ship back the "defective" one within 10 days, DELL will charge your card/account. If you decide to return the monitor altogether, then and only then will DELL charge you for shipping. For me, it's a viable option - I was charged $13 - in the worst case scenario, I'll lose $13 max.

As a side note, DELL is starting a similar deal tomorrow:
34% OFF + $60 off = ~435.

man this is really wierd...I just noticed 3 hot pixels which weren't there before...
at least I did not notice them before.

I gota say one thing though the the samsung 712N the hot pixels were 4 times the size then they are on this monitor. You could hardly tell they are there...maybe because its a sIPS rather then a TN?
