Well I just have to get used to it.

Pople say the 2405 12 ms (Same as the FPW2005) has no ghosting even on very fast games like UT2004!

I never used a LCD before, I always use CRT but I want to make the switch, will it be really bad for games?

I have to say the price is tempting atm.
Should I get this 2005fpw, or keep waiting for a similar sale on the 2001fp?
hmmm

I just received mine yesterday, and it's much bigger than I was expecting =]
When I was playing WoW though, i noticed that when I move in the game, if I look closely enough, the pixels stand out a little. Is that the "ghosting" that you are referring too? Or do I just need to warm it up a little?

Yes this is called ghosting

The new Gateway 21" wide screen have better respone time (8 ms) while Dell have 12 ms, so gateway should be better for games.

Please try faster games like Unreal tournament 2004 or counter striker source and see if ghosting still noticeable or not...

I got in on this monitor a while ago. I play UT2004, HL2, and a load of other games on it. I use the DVI connection and havn't noticed any ghosting. There is a significant amount of backlight bleeding on mine but I don't even notice it when playing games. I probably would while watching DVDs... but that is what my TV is for not my PC. All in all worth every penny I spent on it. Just wish I had a use for the other connections.

I guess its not really that noticeable.. I was just trying to look very very close at the pretty picture =]

More seriously though, I looked through the forums, and they say LCD's can't "ghost", just Motion Blur.. but what i'm seeing is not so much of a blur, as it is a sharpening of pixels when I move. I have a feeling its the same thing though...

But playing that game in widescreen... O M G..

PS.. Running on 6800 Ultra, 3200 Venice

Edit: Didn't find any Backlight bleeding problems on black screen

I now have the 2005fpw sitting right next to the 19" Trinitron. Fireup PixPerAn (that program that has cars moving quickly from right to left), you can immediately see that all of the get very blury to the level that you can't identify the object anymore, while on the CRTs it's as sharp as it's static.

The image quality of the 2005fpw supurb (mainly sharpness) comparing to the CRT beside and it's great for slower games like B&W2, and it's also acceptable in games like UT2004.
However, I found CS:S is almost unplayable because in CS:S, I always have to turn the mouse left and right quicky, and now I am unable to aim anything while in any sort of motion. NFS:U2 is even worse, I can now barely see the road when going 100mph+.

No. You will need other software. Both NVidia and ATI have a tool available for their cards.
