My next post says "supposed" mistake. If so, I think it is lame for people to try to jump on a mistake. My opinion. I already have a 2005FPW and it is ok. Really just an extra wide 17" monitor which is too short for my desires.

I look for Hot Deals, not hot scams.. I was a weasel when I was young. I stole a lot of credit cards, a lot of cars, and a lot of drugs - all for fun. I never really paid for it either. Still I want to let people know that exploiting others' stupidity ain't a cool thing. It doesn't make you smart and it doesn't make you thrifty. You aren't special because of this. When you show off your savings at another's expense nobody really cares, and in fact they just think you are a dork for it.. I know who thieves are and they aren't cool. Let's try to be cool folks. Don't rip others off.

Oh, $224 is a great price on this, but I want a 19" with no AR and/or a 24".. My 2005FPW will be my den's monitor..

2nd, since when did consumer care so much them exploiting vendors? if you're one of those, y r u here @ hot deals forum? dont you think some of the deals are based on such "exploitation".

3rd, who said dell is losing money selling these at ~$334?

You jus sound like a sore loser who was too slow to act and missed out on the deal

Dell has these marked off 25% .... that is not a mistake

Dell has $100 off $500 coupons also

They stack....

Dell knew they were marking 25% off the monitors, and knew that they had $100 off $500 coupons... while buying 200 of them might be exploiting it, buying a few for personal use because you have been waiting for a good deal on this monitor for 6 months, is not exploiting an "error" Dell made....

Sounds like you might still be on some drugs if you are comparing stealing CC's and cars to purchasing monitors from a company using coupons produced and published by that company....

yikes....

Also what's their dead pixel policy?

You have 30 days, no questions asked. I'm in for one.

Ya unfortunately they don't cover your shipping...I'll pass at the moment I'd pick one up but with my 700m and no gaming system it's not worth it. It'll be even cheaper in a month or two when I might actually be directly in the market for one...

You had to thread-rape, didn't you? Why spread information (I am assuming you didn't do it intentionally; if you did, you deserve to DIE), unless you are absolutely sure what you are talking about? I had returned this monitor at least 6 - 7 times. I was never charged a penny by DELL for return shipping. And, their return policy is 21 days from the date on the packaging(shipping) slip, not 30.

I never meant return shipping from them back to you. I was refering to shipping from you to them. It's called "threadcrap" if anything and was I doing that? ...

You have some person issues you might need to sort out before posting again it seems.

Dell has always covered my return shipping when I've made a return or needed repair. This includes the shipping back to them, which they even send a box with a pre-paid shipping label with a new item in it to replace mine. Thats pretty damn good if youa ask me. Have you ever even had to return anything to them before?

"While I think it is classless to exploit this supposed error by Dell I also think it is more than fair to buy whatever # of these for whatever one sees fit. If you want to share move to Europe.. "

While I agree and do love Capitalism, there are also rules and regulations in a free market economy. I do believe Dell Small Business has a question in the check out process that says "do you intend on reselling this?". I wonder what those buying 10 to sell on ebay answer to that and what the implications are.

Has anyone actually had their orders canceled?
I ordered two at 11:30 pm on the 28th and both of mine have shipped.
I think the coupon just ran out. If a Dell csr said that it was a mistake, I wouldn't take it as 100% fact. I have been on the phone with Dell many times and have been told totally different stories by different reps about the same item or policy.

I think they are coming out with a new model soon and just wanted to blow out a bunch of stock, but that is just my opinion.

I dont think it was a mistake either. For sure there wouldve been a lot more cancellations. I for one didnt even know about it might having been a mistake.
As soon as saw this thread when it just had started I followed the links and ordered. Didnt read any fine print or anything. So I just thought this was
another great deal. Jnmunsey should check himself.

Again, check DELL's return policy. If they charged you for "YOU RETURNING AN ITEM TO THEM," you got raped. I hardly know, if for anyone except you, who got charged for returning an item back to DELL.

Stealing credit cards and cars is slightly different than saving 50$ on a monitor which you still pay 334$ for, especially when no one is sure if that saving was unintended by the seller anyway. When people say "that monitor was a steal for 334$" they don't mean that they pulled a jnmunsey and stole the thing.

this isnt the first time the 2005FPW's have been at this price...I paid 334 several months ago when i bought mine, my roomates wanted some too so i got in on this deal as well.

this wasnt a price mistake, orders will ship (mine have marked shipped already) and people will be happy, and people will continue to whine. welcome to the hot deal section on any forum...

I am extremely sorry if the word "DIE" offended you in any way. LOL. My point still stands - DELL doesn't charge you for return shipping. Your origianl post gave newer users exaclty the opposite information (that DELL charges you for return shipping).
