Next time, read the thread, plus countless others on other hot deals forums. You'll see that it was a mistake, but some of us are (hopefully) getting in on it. ITS TOO LATE.

Calling = #1 no-no of this stuff. You're calling to see if something that's not supposed to work will work? So they can flag the system and prevent anyone's orders coming through?

For all that is sane and humane, I didn't mean to bump just want to dispute. The number of posts underneath the username has no bearing as to how often one frequents and reads these forums. Instead of clowning me for using my resources (just like others have to get the deal in the first place) why don't you read the posts prior to this which have ALSO called dell and asked them to honor the deal. I called and I'm glad I did. I have a monitor on order for $322 - shipped.

As for 'whistle blowing' or whatever - calls were made BEFORE I made one. The reps already knew what they were dealing with. The expiration of the coupon was due to too many uses (like the dentist who bought 5 or others over at a deal page that is slick who bought the monitors to sell on ebay).

We don't need a noob hot deals faq (actually, I think we have one with definitions).

Anyone can recommend tests for stuck/dead pixels and how to check for the backlight issues people mention about this monitor? Anything else I should check for?

I checked it, no wavy here, strange only on that site? Are you using 1680X1050 and 60Hertz on refresh rate?

Yes, I have been looking for information on the internet about it. Not much to go on. I hope I don't have to return it

I don't have a wavy effect, but I DO have a dead pixel(very noticable) and a LOT of backlight bleeding. However, and I do believe this was brought up earlier in the thread, Dell is replacing it, advance exchange, without giving me a hard time.

Tech support did however ask me if I tried starting up in safe mode to check it out. I ask if she was serious and she paused and decided not to press the issue. On the plus side her english and accent were so good I *almost* believed she was stateside for a minute, but turns out she wasn't
