Your tracking number will be provided when your shipment arrives at the carrier's regional center. This can take 48-72 hours. Please check back to obtain your tracking number through this tool.

Damnit, does this mean they're going to cancel it ?

Not at all. If it's "in transit to local carrier," that means that they've got it boxed up and submitted it to whoever they're shipping through, but that it hasn't been sent out yet (or else that it has been but the carrier's tracking system hasn't been updated yet).

that means that it is boxed up, the shipping label is taped to the box and your package has either been picked up shippng carrier (but not scanned yet) or waiting to be picked by the shipping carrier. Usually takes a day before your tracking number shows up after this step.

Can they cancel your order at this stage ? Yes they can but it is highly unlikely that they will. Most of the orders that are cancelled are the ones that are on or before the boxing stage.

Cancelling your order will be a lot of headache. Someone will have to go to the warehouse, locate your package admist hundreds/thousands of other packages and bring it back (not worth for dell to do it)

so relax, you will have your LCD within a few days

With reports of people buying 10+ at a time, their inventory is probably so low that they were forced to eliminate the deal. Some guy claims to have ordered 75 to sell on eBay.

If your order gets cancelled, just ask the guy who ordered ten for one. Oh right, he'll want $400 for it. Well, think about that.

i meant to rephrase my wording...9 out of 10 monitors for my business has shipped . i don't intend to sell these, hell too good of a deal to apss these suckers up.

I dont see anything wrong with people buying for profit. It's not really his fault that other people's orders get cancelled.

Maybe next time jump on the deal sooner or stop being a sissy contemplating for 15 hours to find out dat your late.

The guy just saw the opportunity and jumped on it. If anything, instead of hating on the guy, maybe you should learn from the guy.

This deal is not so hot because of the tax for some people. For me, the monitor came out to $363.08. Price for this monitor is mediocre as it has been this price before back in July 28, 2005 on Ben's Bargain Center for $359. Sorry to threadcrap...

I would say wait a while until Vista monitor HDCP copy protection requirements settle down and Dell's new monitors come out soon. The 2005FPW will take a huge price drop then.

But I guess for others starting their Christmas shopping early, this is a great deal as the price hasn't been this low since July. Great monitor nonetheless and you won't regret your purchase.

:Q amidst all your rambling you gave me a terrific idea. Ill get this monitor for myself, and give my perantal-units my old 19" LCD for Christmas thanks

I wouldn't hold my breath for that

In other words, you folks who knew it was a mistake exploited this error at someone else's cost. I hope your monitors fail 1 day after the warranty expires..

Hello,

I'm sorry to be bothersome, but from one Anandtecher to another - "Congrats on getting in on the LCD deal!" I just wanted to ask you how it was possible to apply a $100 dollar off $500 coupon with the price (after 25% discount being sub-$500). I tried calling a Dell representative, but the cheapest price they good give me was $431.67 shipped. Please help.

Thanks for your time and patience

You suck.

Next time, read the thread, plus countless others on other hot deals forums. You'll see that it was a mistake, but some of us are (hopefully) getting in on it. ITS TOO LATE.

Calling = #1 no-no of this stuff. You're calling to see if something that's not supposed to work will work? So they can flag the system and prevent anyone's orders coming through?

While I think it is classless to exploit this supposed error by Dell I also think it is more than fair to buy whatever # of these for whatever one sees fit. If you want to share move to Europe..

If you think this "error" is not in benefit to the customers (therefore a hot deal), then you should move to another forum.

IT's completely classless and if I knew what his company was I we be sure he never got my business.

Brownells gun parts decided to quit selling Remington 700 actioans so they sold them at about $100 less than the normal price. One of the custom gun builders ran in and bought them all up as fast as they could leaving a bunch of people with cancelled or orders or shopping carts that suddenly went empty.

That company will never get a dime of my cash.

1st, you dont know wheather this was mistake or not. someone said this deal ended cuz dell found out that coupons were stacking even though they were not suppose to stack. but it could have ended cuz the coupon code was limited use coupon.

2nd, since when did consumer care so much them exploiting vendors? if you're one of those, y r u here @ hot deals forum? dont you think some of the deals are based on such "exploitation".

3rd, who said dell is losing money selling these at ~$334?

You jus sound like a sore loser who was too slow to act and missed out on the deal

Also what's their dead pixel policy?

You have 30 days, no questions asked. I'm in for one.

Ya unfortunately they don't cover your shipping...I'll pass at the moment I'd pick one up but with my 700m and no gaming system it's not worth it. It'll be even cheaper in a month or two when I might actually be directly in the market for one...

You had to thread-rape, didn't you? Why spread information (I am assuming you didn't do it intentionally; if you did, you deserve to DIE), unless you are absolutely sure what you are talking about? I had returned this monitor at least 6 - 7 times. I was never charged a penny by DELL for return shipping. And, their return policy is 21 days from the date on the packaging(shipping) slip, not 30.
