So the first 2005fpw (A02 revision) I received had the issue where pixels will randomly get stuck for a day or so and then disappear. I've had 3-4 different pixels do that to me over the course of a month. Is this an issue that I should worry about in the long run (i.e. will one of them eventually get permantly stuck)? I called tech and they sent me out another monitor (A01 Revision) except this time I don't have any bad pixels, but there is backlight bleeding issues. I'm trying to decide whether to just keep one of these two or attempt to deal with the monitor russian roulette again. Any suggestions?

I was happy with everything but the excessive ghosting which made gameplay miserble before I gave it to my dad. If you play FPS and have a diamondtron/trinitron type tube beware you'll notice it bigger than shyt.

I haven't ordered mine yet - I will order one tomorrow. But I have played Half Life 2 and UT2004 (widescreenforum tweak) to make the games run @ native resolutions on an ATI X50 PCI-e. Haven't observed any ghosting, but then maybe I was just overwhelmed with the monitor's colors? LOL

"The 2405, like the 2005, has hardware control of the aspect ratio built in. So if you set the res to 1600x1200, and the monitor to "1:1 aspect" it'll display it in the middle of the screen with a black bar down each side. You might have to turn off 'stretch to fit' in the ATi control panel, too."

Sounds good!

Guys:
Just exchanged my 2005FPW for the third time. The first one was pathetic. The second one was OK - it had a minor bleed from the top. Now today, I receive a worn out box via FEDEX Next Day service. And I must say I am dumbfounded. I have been watching Constantine for the past hour - I had to pause this darkass movie to make this post. The monitor has zero dead pixels and no backlight bleed. I am sure others have had similar experiences, but I have reasons to make this post:

Mfg Date: July 2005
Rev: A02

I also noticed that the markings on the wires are finer and more professional than on the wires from the previous two shipments. I don't know what that means, but I am sure it may help some future customers. Also, I used Dell Chat for all 3 exchanges. I requested the associates every time to make sure that the next shipment I receive would be perfect. They acknowledged the fact, and here I am, sitting with a perfect monitor. The third time I requested the guy to upgrade my shipping to Next Day from Ground, because this was my third exchange. I received the original monitor on 13 July, the second one on 18 July, and the thrid one on 20 July.
Be nice to the associates and don't react as if it's the end of the world. Dell Chat works flawlessly, and if you are lucky, you will receive the perfect monitor. Anyone who makes this purchase needs to know that this monitor suffers from the backlight bleeding problem extensively. So make sure before you make the jump, you have an optimum time window in case you need an exchange.

Thanks Dhaval00, if they have fixed the backlight issues with July mfg dates and later I will just do this once and for all.
