LMAO..I just tried to get dell to substitute the 2405 for the 2005. That went over like a lead balloon. I cant even get a coupon from those fockers. All they try to do is sell me something else to go with my monitor that is being built.

I complained it was taking so long, and asked for them to upgrade my shipping... They upped it to Next Day, so anyone else 'In Production' could at least give that a try.

I bet they are repackaging the returns right now. If I don't get an A02 revision, then I'll definitely know. I will also try to upgrade my shipping. If there are any defects, there'll be heck to pay. It was a nice try to get a 2405 though. Would've been awesome if you pulled that off.

Does anyone rember the ship time on these orignally? I ordered once before it only took 4 days, here it's double and has yet to even ship!

Don't worry about any returns. You'll be able to get upto three exchanges. DELL starts counting the 21 days from the day posted on the Invoice. So save your shipping slip that's stuck to the DELL box to keep a track of the date. I am anticipiting a lot of returns on this deal.

Normally I wouldn't bother to send it back (unless super bad) since I've been waiting so damn long on it. But I will be going to my parents house after my last final exam next week so it is possible that I'll receive it a day or two then be going home. I can test it and if there's defects its surely going back. I would be at home without using the monitor anyway, so for those two weeks I might as well have a replacement coming.

Good luck. I had to return it three times, then ran out of time, so am gonna wait until the next deal. I have been whining about it all over the place - it's just that I need it to be perfect @ $400. When you start the monitor, it may be perfect. But backlight bleeding is more evident when it gets hot. I think that's the reason why DELL switched to another chip in 2405FPW (instead of LG Philips). AnandTech gave this one full marks, but it is bound to receive a prefect monitor as it is THE reviewer; quite unlike most of us who are end users. The bleed isn't noticeable in daylight, but I work a lot in dim light, so it's very annoying for me. Nevertheless, it's the best gadget you can own, if you get a perfect build.

I'm so frustrated. My monitor shipped on July 22 and is still not here.

I'm in Okinawa, Japan and it is an FPO address so it's not Dell's fault but I hate military mail and waiting for this thing. I can't wait to get mine.

I bought one of this a while back, had to send the first one back because it had 5 deal pixels, then the second one had black light issues. The third one was remanufactured and even though it didn't have black light problems it had dead pixels, so I kept the second one.

Yea military mail takes forever depending on what service you use.
I got chewed out for sending some package by Media Mail to a U.S. military person in Germany. It was one of the worst mistakes I have ever done lol.

Just sent them an email yesterday complaing a bit.. the rep changed shipping to next day and offered me a $35 coupon to boot.

Are you trying to exhange it for a replacement moniter? Or just return it? When I called technical service I didn't have to wait very long but I spent a good deal of time with the tech, at the end however they gave me a RMA number. THEN I decided I wanted to just return the moniter outright (cause it was going for 359, bought it for like 389) so I called a customer rep told them to cancel my replacement and just give me a rma number to return, which they did without giving me the run around. THEN I decided to call in to see if I couldn't just get a price adjust, after a big fiasco, Dell agreed to pay for my return shipping (ended up with me having to talk to a Sales rep for some reason, THEN get transfered back to a customer rep who didn't initially believe me and I had to explain everything again). But yea both times I just got the numbers off of support.dell.com. Just clicked the contact us link, then called 18006249897 option 4 entered order number chose all of like the "other" options usually like 3s and 4s. For tech support I think I ended up going to the same process but when I got in touch with a customer care rep I told them I needed to talk to a tech and they transfered me over.

I just tried Dell chat to try and get next-day shipping out of the deal, but upon submitting my question it says I'm not Home/Home Office. Fvck that. I have only ordered and registered ONCE for Dell and it was for this Home/Home Office 2005FPW deal. What a pain in the ass.

Wow, I paid for 2, got the deal early on a sunday morning. They were here on my front porch Tuesday at noon. That was insanely fast shipping IMO.

I wish everything could ship that fast.

I'm initiating an exchange for mine. They shipped me one with two stuck pixels. One green and one red. The red one is near the center of the screen. There's also some strong backlighting going on from both top corners.

It's a rev. A02, June 2005, Made in Mexico.

Awesome. Thanks for the tips. After not being able to chat I was like "fvck it, I'll get it when it comes." But today I thought I'd try and the Dell rep said that the best she could do was give me next-day air on it. And of course it was free. So I'm pretty pleased. It SHOULD be shipping tomorrow hence I will get it Wednesday, which leaves me 1 or 2 days to test it and determine if it needs shipping back. The next-day air is super helpful actually, otherwise I would more than likely be gone when it arrived thus by the time I returned my 21 days to return it would more than likely be done.

the strong backlighting is normal for these monitors, burning the brightness down to zero helps a bit.
