Isn't brightness one of the key features of the monitor? LOL. Why should we pay ~$400 for it, only to turn down the brightness to zero? This is a serious issue, which is widely known - it has been discussed extensively on DELL forums too. It needs to be addressed to by DELL.

Any idea when this deal will come back. I've been waiting patiently, but I've been out of the country for a week and a retreat for another week. I came back to find that these amazing deals already ended. Stinks.

even at zero the brightness is still VERY bright it actually doesnt affect the picture much. supposidly this is common of IPS type panels. so its not really a flaw either as its working as intended.

Man that sucks. I feel for you. Mine was expected to ship today and I just got notification that it has been shipped.

If I were you I'd reply to that Delay notification email and complain. The LEAST you will get out of it is free Next Day Shipping and a $35 concession coupon. I complained when they told me shipping would be delayed until Aug. 9 and I got free Next Day Shipping and a $75 concession coupon (because I asked for it!).

For those of you who will be receiving yours shortly, please post how your monitor is. Unfortunately, I won't be able to check mine out until Aug. 19 since I am out of the country until then.

I've talked with them twice and only managed to get upgraded shipping after going on and on about it. A concession coupon would help me feel a little better, but I really want my monitor!

I just sold my second 2005FPW to a local buyer $400. I'm smirking at all of your delayed shipping, ha ha.

You have to pay to play and when you keep waiting for deals like this, you pay to wait instead.

Waiting on my replacement today, due to backlight issue on corner . Was estimated ship replacement aug 9, shipped yesterday, will recieve today. The reason for the delays i think is because of all the returns for new ones, i think...

Has anyone been able to talk to an american? If so, what's the number? I think it'd be much easier to getsomething from them if it was american and not an indian... since the indians have to ask their supervisors before they can do anything.

I never waste my time trying get stuff from them on the phone. Just email...its the the best way I think. You will still get Indian reps but you don't have struggle trying to speak with them.

And for those of you that complain about them giving you American names...well why don't you try this. Give them an Indian name and see how much better they help you!

Mine was shipped today as it was suppose to all along. But if it's fux0red up it doesn't matter cause it's going back anyway.

I just got a response from Dell saying my order was shipped. But they JUST sent me an email saying it was delayed. But....

Anyone else checked their order status? Mine now says shipped but I have no tracking number or anything.

As with the other thread, I talked to a support rep, she first said it wasn't supposed to ship until next week, but upgraded me to overnight, then she emailed me a few hours ago saying that it's been shipped out and I should get it tomorrow.

I got an tracking number today. Dell has really turned into a lousy company as far as the customer is concerned(other than price). One of the bad things about capitalism is money is what matters, so if the consumer suffers and it does NOT affect sales, the consumer will continue to suffer, though I am not sure any other system would make a difference either..

All these company ratings sites have some value but are all relative. Is there any major electronics company with awesome service with Americans(living here at least) answering the phones 100% of the time?? I think for PCs Micron uses Americans and at one time advertised this fact, but conumers are unwilling to pay axtra for that..

How about this Dell, have a warranty upgrade that guarantees all calls relating to the product you buy will be handled by an American with a college degree and at least 6 months of experience in your company? Oh wait, turnover is so high you don't have any American employees in CS that have been there longer than 3 months....

well if it makes you feel better, i compared my 2005 and 2405 last night. the 2005 has much better saturation out of the box. it seems a bit sharper too. i will probably be keeping the 20 and sending the 24 back... so its worth the wait the 24 also seems a little too big, kinda like watching tv with your nose touching the glass.

WTF. Mine is delayed as well after saying it was shipped today. My bank account was not charged so it didn't fvcking ship.


edit: After talking to a Dell rep, she said that it still had shipped. The order status today said it had, but after reading this thread and coming home to my computer and checking my email as well as bank account, it appeared as if it didn't. But the Dell rep said that they did charge my account and she even gave me a tracking number. I will report back tomorrow about whether or not I have it in my hands.

According to the order status page mine shipped today also, or so they say. Still doesn't list a tracking number and I haven't received an email with one either. Fingers crossed here.

mine was supposedly upgraded to next day but I dont see how it will make it from waco,tx to charlotte, nc today..especially on the ground. this better be one hell of a monitor.
