Kind of dumb they couldnt just give me 42.01, but instead I have to order another lcd monitor.

After spending over half an hour on the phone with some Indian woman who I could barely understand, they told me the same thing. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to do business in this way, seems like it will cost them a lot more to have to eat the shipping charge, restock the monitor and ship out another one to me. I explained this to her, but to no avail. Since I don't really want to deal with the hassle of doing this, I let her know that I would keep the monitor, Dell could keep my $40, and they would not get any more business from me.

ask her "can I be transfered to an American Rep"

Wont help they will transfer you to BOB who is indian.
Buddy of mine from India said they have american names for use in India call centers.

First the jobs then the names.

Yeah. I got help from "Jacob" one time and after reciting my "express" service code 5 times, I hung up.

Well, mine just arrived today (bought Saturday for $389) --> I told myself I'd buy another if the deal came up again.

It's sooooo tempting.

This deal will not leave me alone. I always want to get it, but i'm not sure if my GF6800 with DVI and VGA can drive dual-monitors if I use both the outputs. It's an MSI, but does anyone know in general if this works?

See, here's the thing. I want to order this... but I haven't ordered the parts for my computer yet... so the only thing I could test it on while I wait is a 733 celeron with a GeForce 4 MX420...

So should I just not get it and wait till I have my parts.... ? But then the deal won't be there and I'll have to wait for another deal. What would you do?

Honestly... I am thinking it won't be this cheap again for a while. Looks like they are trying to clear out some inventory and boost sales for the quarter. I could be wrong though. I got mine just in case.... Next one I get is the 24"!!!

I was thinking the same thing as you. I only have a 128bit AGP ATI All-In-Wonder Pro(32M). I don't think it will drive up to 16xx X 12xx(My computer is 5 years old). At the same time, I have been trying to decide what I want for my new rig. I told myself that if I didn't order it now, the deal would be gone. Therefore, I ordered it yesterday at 6:00PM CDT. Then, I ordered all my parts last night at 11:30PM CDT from NewEgg. I got an ATI X800XL 256MB as well from CompUSA for $277 after tax this morning. All my parts should be here by Monday and I hope the screen won't be here until mid next week since I only have 21 days to test and exchange if something is wrong(dead pixel, backlight bleeding and stuff). I would say go for it(if the deal is still there) and order your parts now. Just my $0.02

Question-- I want to order two of these babies, but still get them for the 389 price. Do I have to do separate orders for each, or can I put
both on one order and still apply coupons to get it to 389 * 2?

Thanks!

This might be a silly question, but how "GOOD" is this monitor?
How is it with gaming? Ghosting at all? Does the strange wide-angle native resolution not work well with some games?
This is a great deal and I don't want to miss it if this is the LCD that I "want" (decent for gaming, lol).

TIA!

Good for gaming, yes

Strange resolution in some games, but in widescreen capable games, it is awesome. Many games actually give you lower fps when you enable the native resolution of this monitor. Others are not only fine, but better looking on this monitor.

I have 2 of these (both for 420 shipped thanks) and 1 2001FP. Though I still prefer my 2001FP as it is a little bit larger, these are as good or better monitors for gaming. I think the 2005FPW is brighter, and must use a different chip for scaling and such. The 2001FP out scales this monitor, but the added width make gaming, web browsing and general use a very fun task. I played quake 3, hl2, need for speed underground 2 and doom 3 in native resolution. All looked great with no ghosting.
