no they won't, and they will replace it for you imediately. They have a VERY good no hassle return/exchange policy. So call them, and they will send you a new one before you even send that one back. I got mine refurbed and it had no backlight issues whatsoever.

There is definitely motion blur with the 2005 when I spin around in WoW. I am still trying to decide to what degree I can tolerate it. When I am paying attention to it, it bugs me. However, I spent 2hr in Alterac Valley fighting, didnt notice it at all when I was actually gaming rather then observing the game, if that makes any sense.

Half life looked fine, but I am not at a good place to notice that right now (tight and dark). Going to try it out with far cry tonight, more "long distance" action in that. When you spin, things further away have greater radial velocity relative to yourself which should create greater blurring.

For backlight, its definitely overly bright, but it seems fairly even. My laptop has a bit of uneveness due to backling problems which creates noticeable colorations, on this one I see no color variation which is my real measure since I dont spend much time looking at a blank black screen. I do wish they had gone with a dimmer backlight like on the apple.

Artuk

That may not be your monitor with WoW it could also be settings and/or video card. You be experiencing video lag, not motion blur, because I have NEVER seen motions blur, and I have specifically tested for it by spinning around like mad. Nadda. So what are your setting in WoW and are you running at the native resolution?

Yes to Native.. I have some experience with WoW in WS since I play it on my 17 WXGA+ Laptop too, that experience is what prompted me to buy the LCD screen. In Ogrimarr I am getting 30-45 fps, elsewhere I get 59-60 (vsynch enabled), in PVP 25-30. I have an X800XL so performance shouldnt be an issue. Its possible I have some kind of setting that produces it, but thats why I am going to experiement with other games before I make a final decision.

I also have a 21" viewsonic p815 right next to it to compare. At some point I am going to configure them dual head at 1280x1024 (locking the res on the lcd) with cloned screens to see the difference directly.

Regards,

Artuk

Anyone notice ghosting on TV? I watched Law and Order using s-video and ghosting was awful. Are there any settings I can tweak to reduce ghosting?

Actual ghosting or motion blur (which people call ghosting anyway)? S-Video is never going to look really great because it's just such a low-resolution signal.

Image quality is great, it's just I can see sooo much ghosting. At bestbuy looking at the 20" LCD TVs running TV they don't have ghosting and they're specs are lower than the 2005FPW.

When they turn their heads, I can see where it used to be. Same for dialog, or any movement for that matter. It's definitely motion blur.

On a show like L&O where they do crazy camera movement around the talking heads, it gets nauseating.

just curious, what source do you have with an s-video out?? give composite a shot. i know svideo looks better but i dont notice any ghosting using a vcr as a tuner on the composite input.

I'll have to try that. I have a directivo and a dvd player connected via svideo to an a/v switcher.

So I found increasing sharpness helps reduce motion blur but of course it makes the image look crappier. Oh well at least I don't get as sick.

i haven't noticed any ghosting during my short stint in WoW last night or from video that i was watching. i have an A02 revision made from Mexico, IIRC. is it too late for you to get a replacement?
