I did receive the monitor (for 212+tax+ca fee). I have mixed feelings. I think the HP was a bit better 'cept for the one corner that had horrible backlight issue (of course that monitor was $400). I've not noticed horrible backlight issue with this monitor but it is not uniform in a very dark room. I've not noticed a non-uniform tint issue but the colour balance is off and I'm not very good at adjusting it (hence request for some suggested settings).

It is better than my old 2001fp but is not a perfect monitor. I think if the HP had not had the backlight issue in the one corner I would have prefer it even for the extra $$$.

Also my monitor is marked 2009WAf (not sure what the f means) and was manufactured dec 2008.

there is a long thread over at Hard where some of the posters linked there .icc profiles to download (done with professional calibration hardware/software).

Can confirm that it's still possible to order though Dell Live Chat as of 13 March. My original quote foresaw delivery on the 26th, but my order confirmation revised that to the 17th. I've a FedEx tracking number now, and it looks like the monitor has been picked up from Nashville. I don't expect an NEC LCD2490WUXi at this price, but do I hope there won't be any conspicuous issues (eg failed pixels or inconsistent colour).

Edited: My agent was Craig Taylor, and there was a bit of confusion regarding 'Customer Numbers' (which is what he required to generate a quote, rather than my Dell account username). I had three different Customer Numbers, but he claimed they were somehow not considered Small Business numbers (despite my ordering generally from Small Business, not Home). He had to create a new number for me (confirmed for him my company name, telephone number, and email address), and I had to manually associate it with my Dell account to get the order to show up there.

Just to let everyone know, it's still possible to get this monitor for $212 + free shipping through Dell Small Business chat, even if no deals are active. I did it a couple days after the deals expired, asked if it was still possible to buy for $212 and was given that price with no problem. Last I know, someone just asked for the price and was given it this morning. So if you're looking for a sweet 22" IPS at a crazy low price, it is still possible to get in on this.

I had to try a second time with Dell chat to get someone to sell me the monitor without a small business account (second time around i was ready with a fake company name ). I have an old Sony TN 17" with pretty bad color and viewing angles. I look forward to receiving my 2209WA. Thanks for posting this deal.

Just got an email with my "mystery coupon". Ends up mine is worth 25% off of this monitor, is there a way to get a chat person to mark it down to $212 and then apply the coupon code or do they not allow that?
