Dell 2405 LCD $840 + tax (Ends wed 7/13)

I had been working with several Dell Reps to try getting a deal on the 2405. I picked one up last week from Dell Small Bus for 779 (after AE discount which is very YMMV). Today I recieved a voicemail and email from another Dell rep with an offer for the 2405 at $840 without requiring any special discounts. So I thought I would pass it along if anyone is interested. You can probably call any of the reps to get the deal but here is the info I recieved in the email:

Edited: Deal is through Dell Small Bus not Home. Received email from rep confirming no shipping charges.

Update from SkyBum: The $840 for Small Business orders will only be valid until next wed [7/6], I was told that they expected orders to outstrip production and that orders placed at the last minute would likely see longer than usual delays in shipping (no specific dates though).

Umm it is still not hot we bought back 3 months ago the same baby for $906 shipped which includes tax and shipping.

Uhhhh, $840 + 6% tax here in NJ is $890.40, making the deal the same or very close after shipping, so what are you talking about?

Also, I think the more important question is how did you get it for $779 wild one?

Dell SB had an offer for 25% off. I called and asked them to apply an American Express discount for small businesses paying with AE (corp) card. I had seen a reference to this AE discount before but wasn't sure if it would work since it has supposedly been cancelled. Anyway, long story short, I ended up getting a total of 10% addl off on the monitor due to the AE discount.

well worth it if you multitask a lot, do graphics, sick of having two monitors, etc. ~$900 after taxes and shipping requires some consideration, and once you call these guys be prepared to never turn back! they're nice people, but really good salesmen

I figure this is probably a stupid question, but the wipro addresses go to legitimate Dell sales people right? I figure it's probably a outsourced sales company or something but I just want to make sure before a big chunk of change is spent.

I wasn't sure of the shipping charges so I sent the rep an email. Recieved confirmation that the shipping is no charge. Deal is apparently through Dell Small Bus though.

Guys - Has anyone received delivery of any of the DELL 2405fpW's bought after 6/15/2005 from DELL Home with 25% discount? I have ordered one for $881. The estimated ship date was 6/21 when I received confirmation of my order. Last week that was changed to 6/24 and today it is showing as 7/1.

Being frustrated, I asked DELL reps if they plan to send the monitor or not. They said the status would be updated online and I can check. Same reply from 3 of them. They also told me that AMEX discount on the moniotrs were applied incorrectly last week and they would not honor those discounts. Person who purchased using AMEX to get the discount will have to get the discount from AMEX and not from DELL. This was said by DELL rep Andy Pillai.

If no one has received any of these monitors, I am sure DELL is trying to inflate their earnings this quarter. But, before I draw that conclusion, I want to find out if anyone of you actually got this baby delivered at the door if you have placed order on or after 6/16.
