Hot, but I already have a 2005FPW and don't have the money to spend on this :brokenheart:

(That money is going towards other items in my computer more in need of an upgrade )

Excuse me if this is a dumb question, but do things like the net fill the whole screen without geometric distortion on these widescreen displays? I am sure a widescreen DVD will fill the whole screen but what about ordinary web serfing?

For browsing, it will be the same, just more space horizontally.
and, depending on your DVD/movie, it will NOT fill the whole screen (read into aspect ratios).

webpages are fine, you just get alot of extra space on the side of the pages like anandtech page

I have this monitor, best purchase i have every made, and i was really lucky and got no dead pixels or any weird buzzing.

Dell previously had a 5% discount when paying with American Express. I haven't seen this discount recently with my cards but did find a LINK for AE in Canada with 5% discount for Dell purchases. Linky So I called Dell and said I had the 25% coupon code and wanted to use my AE card for addl 5% discount I saw on the AE website. (didn't say anything about it being in Canada) Got the 2405 OTD for $839.30! YMMV but worked for me

# Call 1-877-814-4148 and have your American Express Corporate Card for Small Business ready.
# Simply let your Dell representative know that you are an American Express Corporate Cardmember and you?ll automatically be eligible for the discoun

Would it work for AMEX Blue?

CONFIRMED! I just ordered one ... told them exactly what you said above, and it worked. However, mine came to $854 + tax, free shipping. Definitely YMMV, however they didn't have problem with it at all. Looks like this deal is warming up!

About a month ago i bought a 1905FP and it had a dead pixel. Called tech support and they told me that I cannot return it or replace it unless it has more than 5 dead pixel's within a quarter sized area.

The tech guy was a jerk and I'v now called Dell at least 6 times and have recieved very bad customer service. Needless to say my purchase is now more than 21 days old and I am stuck with it.

You must have got $1199 x .75 x .95 whereas I got 1199 x .7

I said the total discount should be 30% and this is the way she entered it. Others may try stating that the total should be a 30% discount to try eeking out the last few dollars. $854 is still a good deal though based on the pricing for the last couple months.

I used an AE Blue Small Bus card only because I have no interest for 6 months, I think could have used any of my AE cards, Rep didn't seem to care. There might also be a deal in Dell Home tomorrow for a similar price - check the tread Here
