Dell 2405FPW monitor just died

My Dell 2405FPW 24" monitor that I've had for ~3 years suddenly turned off by itself today, then I see this nice cloud of smoke coming out of the top of it. Now it doesn't power on and I assume that it's done.

I don't think there is any warranty on it and am wondering what I have for options? I paid a lot of money for it when I got it and don't really want to just throw it away.

I'm trying to confirm that the warrant is expired on the Dell site right now however the monitor doesn't seem to have one of those express service codes like their computers do.

Anyone know what the warranty on Dell monitors is?

Don't know about the Warranty for Dell.

As far as is it worth fixing, well I had a Chip (for adjusting the Screen settings) go out on a 17" Hitachi Monitor some time back. The cost to repair it at the time was more than I initially paid for the Monitor.

My guess if it's not under Warranty is that you're looking at least at a couple hundred dollars - not counting shipping and so forth.

some had 5 years, some 2 years. the service tag should work just fine, and if you need assistance, please let me know.

There doesn't seem to be a traditional Dell service tag on it anywhere I can find. There are a couple of serial numbers but those don't work on the Dell site. I can't find any of the original documentation at the moment either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...
