Not a bad price for a good monitor. It's the lowest I've seen without any coupons for quite some time.

Wow pretty nice! Looks like they dropped the MSRP $50 and applied the current 10% off promo. If I get a 10% off mailer in the next few weeks I might have to pair this up with my Gateway. Also, I don't think Dell Home charges tax in states/provinces where they don't have a Kiosk. Pretty sure I can get it delivered to DC and avoid tax.

Edit: If you're going to use your LCD purely for PC and PC gaming, then the 22" to 24" probably isn't worth it but..... the 24" uses an S-PVA where most of the 22" use a TN panel. The 24" also can do 1080p native with 1:1 pixel mapping and has the inputs to put it to good use. The extra 2" isn't anything to sneeze at but its not worth 2x the price by itself.

You're moving from TN panels to S-PVA panels and increasing from 1650x1080 to 1920x1200 resolutions. It's a bit more benefit than just 2"

just got a call back from a Dell Peripherals Sales agent. He informed me the 2407 HC is being sold in England and Australia currently and it's slated to be introduced to the states in April. It will have a higher contrast ratio and faster response time! I was about to pull the trigger on the 2407 a04 but I'm definitely going to wait now!

I have no clue..i heard a rumor about it..asked a bunch of dell csr's..they had no clue what I was talking about..all of a sudden, one day, I get a call from a Dell peripherals tech who tells me he's returning my inquiry..informs me the panel is out internationally and should be out in the US around mid april..what's really strange is that there are no reviews or even google hits on "2407 hc"..so i have no idea what's going on..

and that's too bad coz i have an exclusive 15% dpa coupon that's going to expire in a day..anyone want it?

Careful....the 2407 HC could be the first 24" to use the new Samsung 24" TN panel. The part has been listed on Samsung's site for some time, it just hasn't showed up yet in a retail product. Faster response time and HC are indicative of the new TN marketing strategy (see similar 22" TNs like the 226BW, 3000:1 contrast and 2ms response).
