Dell 2407WFP-HC - Color unevenness

I have had a new 2407WFP-HC for about a week. Since I use it for photography I have calibrated it (Optix XR Pro), and have the desktop background set to neutral 50% gray.

I see a subtle but very noticeable tint gradient in the color from left to right. The left 50% of the screen has a green tint, while the right half has a red/magenta tint. The tint is not due to viewing angle as I can change my viewing angle and the gradient remains. The gradient is also visible if I set the screen background to 100% white.

I'm driving it from an the onboard Intel video adapter on a DG965WH motherboard (I think it's an Intel 3000 chipset), which only has VGA output, not DVI.

This is a JPEG created from a Canon RAW image file (EOS 20D) with no adjustments applied. The tint unevenness is slightly exaggerated in this image.

I have two 2007WFP monitors at work, also set to 50% gray background, and they are very uniform across the entire width of the screen. They're connected to a DVI adapter.

Is the color cast something that could be due to the VGA signal?

First off what are you doing running at 1920x1200 display on integrated intel graphics?!... and secondly yes the VGA connection is the cause, I know from my experience that 1280x1024 seems to be the limit for good signal clarity on LCD displays over a analog signal.

Signal quality is not a problem. Text is razor sharp and I see no artifacts that would result from distortion. Can you explain how a VGA signal could produce high-quality text AND a color variation across the screen?

I'm seeing the same thing on my 2407WFP-HC. Green cast on the left side - I haven't determined what color on the right. However, the color cast does shift with viewing angles.

Another thing, no matter how much I calibrate the monitor, images look higher contrast than printed versions.

Do you mind sharing your RGB, brightness and contrast settings?

I'm still debating whether to keep this monitor.

Here's a link to my picture. I couldn't really notice much, maybe a TAD darker in the corners, but the picture looks less even than the real thing. OF course, i'm not a trained photographer. I'll do some more in different colors if you want.

Awww crap....noticed the same on mine. And im using a DVI connection. I just got it yesterday. It looks like its brighter on the left side of the panel compared to the right possibly? :*(
