Dell 2407WFP + Radeon X800XL = ?

I'm wondering how well my current video card is gonna work with this large monitor. Right now I have a Dell 1905FP and it's fine. I wanna get some games and play in widescreen. Will I need to upgrade my video card? I'm guessing I will. I'm also second guessing my purchase. I paid quite a price for 24 inches when I could have gotten a 22 inch monitor for considerably less. Also, I've read conflicting reports concerning the panel. Is it 8 bit or 6 bit?

ive not bought any NEW new games

lately and probably the latest thing i

have is the battlefield 2 and 2142 demos.

I have the latest sound and video drivers.

I run these at 800x600x32@75hz w/4xaa

and high af with everything maxed except

dynamic shadows are off. if you look around

the web at performance guides for this game

on different card at different settings and

res on diff cpus and mem amounts and compare

to similar performance on other newer games you

will probably see that you need to upgrade your

video if you want to run these games at the 2407s

native res at a decent clip w/eyecandy. if you have

pci-ex16 you have many options. if you have agp

like me, your choices are much more limited. also,

I believe the 2407 is in fact 8bit. hope this helps.

I got my 2407 a few days agi. Upgraded from a sony 19" crt. Let me tell you, the 2407 is f'ing amazing. I am still in awe how good this thing looks. I can't even imagine having the 30 inch. I love my 2407. You will too. I have a 7900GTO and a 4400 X2.

You won't regret paying the difference to get 24", it's amazing like vandit said. As for your video card, it really depends on what kind of games you play. The good thing about this monitor is that it scales really well.
