I was interested in OLEDs until I found out about their short lifespan.
Only if they enable DP1.3 over Type-C. I'm not saying they won't, but the confirmation of DP1.2 seems weird given that GPUs with DP1.3 will be out before this monitor. I'm hoping that the delay is to use an actual DP1.3 port. Either that, or GPUs better come with USB Type-C ports.

Just FYI, I'm pretty sure that Tech Radar and a number of other sites that jumped on this news got the story wrong.
At no point during the press conference and on none of the printed specifications did Dell say this was a 120Hz monitor.
I was there, so I'm pretty confident I'm correct on this one, and if you take a look at a reputable site like Anandtech and Tom's, which I can confirm were also both in attendance, there's no mention of 120Hz capabilities:

Given that there have been non-FreeSync monitors that have had FreeSync enabled by updating the firmware alone, it's probably a fair bet that all it takes is an engineer to put in a few minutes making the monitor report that it supports FreeSync, plus whatever time it takes to validate everything. I would expect the cost per-monitor to be very small. How much of a financial burden is it to implement Freesync? I know there is no license fee, but there must be some kind of real, identifiable challenge with implementing it....
They must not see it as a selling point. Rather like how most AM4 motherboards support ECC RAM, but the manufacturers don't bother to advertise it because they think their target market doesn't care....Because why the heck doesn't this have Freesync?..
No one is confused.I like how people are still confusing 4k TVs and 4k monitors on here.
At 60 hz it's not as cool. The 120 hz made $3k worth it.

Please point them out then and help them. You are reading wrong thread then, because many are.

Wow, too bad it isn't curved.
