Brings the 2005 down to $525 or so, is that worth using, or is Dell going to be having more sales?

It expires tomorrow!

Also, anyone want it? I'm not sure if I'll use it. PM dibs.

I'm having the same debate. I don't have a coupon, but was thinking of buying one off of ebay if I can't find one.

Just checked the shipping and tax for Boston, MA for the 2001fpw and they didn't allow the $14 shipping they had in home. It was $33 for the lowest ship rate and $30 (%5) tax. That would bring my cost of the 2005fpw to around $580. It seems like Dell has tons of deals going all the time including little $30-$45 off and $25 off. Hmmm... wil there be any more?

As you can tell by my newbie status I'm just getting in to these forums and keeping up on all this. Does Dell always have deals like this. What to do what to do?

Yah - looks like a good monitor, but for the moment I'm taken in by the wide aspect thing. Also, I like the idea of a pivot monitor. I can imagine a lot of situations where I might like that.

get the 2001FP. why would you want the 2005? you can see more on the 2001 at 1600x1200 than the 2005 at 1680x1050

Depends, definitely more screen realestate in Windows witht the 2001FP, BUT, Wide screen gaming is the $hit on the 2005FPW. more immersive due to the fact that your FOV is greater in games that support it (such and Half Life 2 and CS:S), and most newer games do support it. Plus, the 2005FPW has a better contrast ratio (600:1 vs 400:1 I believe)

I just pulled the trigger on the 2005fpw at 524 + tax and $14 shipping. I am excited! I just hope I get one of the newer versions people have been talking about without the backlight issues.

Anyway, no bad thoughts right now. Woo Hoo - I'm going widescreen!

DAMN that's such a good deal. I know there have been a few Dell deals going around, but think about it..~$550 for a 20" LCD. It's sweetness. I paid $450 for my 1800FP and I though that was a deal. Good stuff.

Their wire management isn't that smooth for pivoting too often. I tried it a few times today. Maybe my wires aren't set up properly. It seems to drag the wires though their cable holder each time I go to portrait mode. It could be improved. I do LOVE the ability to adjust the monitor height though. Very useful.

I did portrait for the thread listing. Wow.. it's information overload. Not used to seeing such a long list.

sweet, my 2005 just shipped earlier and will be getting it thursday!

well the 2k1 v 2k5 debate, 16 x 12 is cool and all, but it's still your typical 4:3, just bigger. now a 16:10 ratio, that's the new cool~ ok, that was stupid, but hey, your money, get what you like, period. 30% off coupon is pretty much like the stackable +25% so i say still a good deal.

i can't wait to sit it on my desk so i can play hl2 wide screen not to mention man xbox games in 16:9 w/ the xvga2+ or whatever thingamagig

my previous sweet dell LCD deal: the current 18 incher i'm using, which i bought for like 500, (then dropped close to low 400s.. urg,) but still nice monitor, and got to use it well for 2 or so years. now it'll find a second life at my store. too bad i can't use DVI w/ the KVM.. oh well..

I am in the same position as those above. I am lusting after on of the 2005's but have no coupon to take advantage of. If anyone has a coupon they don't plan on using, PM me and we can work out SOME sort of a deal!
