Dell 924 vs HP 1510

The Dell 924 is selling for $68, and the HP 1510 for $99.

I read the reviews at pcmag.com, and they favored the HP a bit. However, I have heard of problems down the road occurring with the HP All in Ones (we currently have one and it's broke :roll: ).

I also looked at jdpower.com, and the Dell printers were the #1 overall. Right now the Dell seems better, but some other input would be appreciated.

The Dell is actually made by Lexmark. I would recommend getting the HP over the Lexmark. I have been using an HP PSC 1210 for years now, and it still works fine.

I agree that the HP is probably going to be the better of the two----and remind me to regard Jdpower as something with zero credability.

But in terms of inkjet printer choice you are comparing junk with garbage----both are printers with very high ink per page consumable costs. If you want to just use OEM cartridges, something like a Canon that uses the CLI-5&8 cartridge line will have a higher initial purchase price, but a few cartridge changes down the road you will be money ahead. Because that per page consumable costs will be less than half of your either of your choices.

If you want really cheap printing and are willing to use third party cartridges or refill, something like the discontinued but still available non-chipped Canon MP780 can't be beat.

I got this one last week: Samsung SCX-4100.

It's $80 after the MIR. So far so good. Might be a good alternative to getting an inkjet AIO.
