Well you can count me in the group who doesn't understand the hype.

Thin is not enough on its own: not only does the E4300 have better processor options, it includes an integrated optical disk drive and weighs less than the Adamo -- all in a package that is only .75" thick.

I finally decided that the Adamo was designed for consumers who have bought into the idea that the Airbook is the standard for "thin and light" and don't know what else is out there.

The e4300 is 1.1" Thick actually, no where close to the Adamo.

Anyone who thinks any laptop that can contend with .65" thin and expect it to be all powerful is delusional. Dell was going for thinness here, not weight and that should be obvious.

I agree that a macbook pro would be a better buy, but yet again like everyone else raggin on the Adamo, these are two different machines.

I'm sorry, but at that price I'm just going to get a Macbook Air.

Edit: just checked. A MBA with 2.13GHz C2D, Nvidia 9400M and 128GB SSD is $1799 without educational discount. At the refurb stiore it's $1549. The only things it falls short of the Adamo are the maximum memory configuration of 2GB, AND being as thick as .76" at its thickest point instead of .65", which is ~1/10 of an inch or less than 3mm.

I actually like Dell's products, but let's talk when this thing is priced at $1000.

Got my hands on one today finally.

Nice looking unit, but wayyyy too expensive for the hardware IMO.

I was very interested in the HDD performance (as it uses a Samsung-based SSD).
Not impressive.

Sure, better than JMicron, but obviously far worse than Intel or Indlinx.
