DELL AXIM 400mhz $284 - $50 rebate

I called in as well to find-out that my order had been "lost", and the wait to talk to someone that could do something about it was over an hour, so I didn't pursue it. I used a unique 10% off code for the purchase, and when I just tried to input that code to see if it was still usable, it said it had already been used. Hmm, they took my coupon code, but not my order for the axim.(??) Something smells kinda fishy here.

Yeah i smell fish too. I ordered a 400 at (350-40-35(mail catalog coupon)) w/ free shipping). Once I would take off the -50 for the rebate, it would be a nice 220. Anyway, that was on tuesday. I got an email "order acknowledgement" but not an email "order confimation" that they said would come w/in 24 hrs to 2 days max. So friday I called them. Got someone at the check order status place who couldn't find my number? She was kind and told me she couldn't search for all my orders though (???) and that if she transfered me to the main order number they could. So I agreed. I was put on hold for about 30 minutes at the main order number. I hung up. Tried another number. Some dude (no pun intended) answers and says that my order was listed as a quote??? He cancelled it and I asked him if he could re-enable my 35 off 300 coupon since the order never worked. He was real nice and said sure everything is fine. I tried to order again and it said the coupon didn't work. I called again and got a lady who acted not-to-nice and told me that I could only use the 40 or the 35 coupon and not both. I said thats fine but at least re-enable my coupon so I could use the 35 on something else. She basically said there was no reason for doing that b/c she would give me the 40 off over the phone. I said no thank you and hung up. What a mess and a waste of about 5 total hours of my time. I appreciate you guys for pointing out the good deals but if dell doesn't know what the other hand is doing, then they shouldn't be offering all the rebates to people?!

well, more juice to my story. This morning I checked my email and I had a Dell "order confirmation" email. Looks like my order went through and all. So basically my order was placed on tuesday and took 4 DAYS to process?? and no one at dell (I talked to about 3 different people) could find any record of my order?? But the order ended up working out. I guess these orders really did get tied up. Maybe dell realized they had gotten themselves into another jam? and held things up to think.
Anyway, looks like I'll be getting a dell 400 @ 350- (40 off 300) - (35 off 300 from my dell catalog) - (50 rebate) = 225 or so. Pretty nice. On the dell forum, one guy asked if his using 2 coupons would invalidate his $50 MIR and a moderator (dell employee) said that it would NOT so I'm going to print that off and have it ready just in case...

WHewww...ended up ok ) but man-o-man...

IF you have wireless access where you want it. However, how many hotels have wireless access in the room? Use the tools don't snub the tools.

I think it would be worth it to purchase a wireless router or WAP just for your own home. being able to rome around wherever you want and get emails, chat, play music over the network, etc, is definatly worth it... i'm not from a big city, but from what i'm reading almost all big city hotels, coffee shops, etc now have wireless, but for the small town folk like myself, maybe the 10baseT is better

I got my confirmation today, 5 days later and this was after I asked them today what is up, they told me that they were not allowing double coupons, lol. Looks like I have 2 orders with them, around Feb 5th, I will confirm the original order and cancel the one that they would not allow me to use my $35 coupon with the $40 discount, this is getting funny.

I was going to sell my Dell Axim 400 on eBay but it looks like I'll have to cancel my order since:
1) I received an automated order acknowledgement but no e-mail order confirmation yet (it's been 2 days).
2) By the time I actually have the Axim in my hands, eBay will be flooded even more with these.
3) Potential rebate SNAFU's.

Dell decides they aren't allowing double coupons? Maybe they should have decided this when they made the coupon offers in the first place? I know mistakes get made, but dell is obviously loving offering all these mail-in-rebates on many products....you know why they love them? B/c they hope that people buy the product and then they mess up the rebate form and they don't have to pay! I like dell in general but just think if they are going to use the benefits of rebates/coupons for their advantage, they can't whine when things don't go their way...

they should allow it, i believe it all depends on your CSR, so just hang up and try again.

i ordered 400mhz axim + leather case + travel charger. Then used the 40off + 35off+ 10%off. However, the 10% off only applied to the case and travel charger. Placed the order. Called back two days later wondering why the 10% did not apply to the axim, since it did not state 'not applicable on axim'. They adjusted it: $275 for it all BEFORE $50 rebate.

I was going to use my Dell preferred account to get another $25 off, but I'd rather use my CC to double the warranty on the Axim. YMMV, but most Dell sales reps are great and will work with you *if* you are nice!

I spent at least 5 hours on the phone with Dell, about 95% of that time on hold and came to this conclusion. DELL does not allow douple coupons online. This is why our orders did not go through as there is a bug in their system. I spoke to a manager and told him I was very unhappy with my experience and he offered me a free stylus. I laughed at him and told him I want a free case, so I got a free leather case with my order. Suckers. My friend's order was lost and the guy just voluntarily gave him $50 off. Not bad... Can't want to receive mine. Does anyone know of any deals on a cheap CompactFlash wireless card? Thanks

I just got off the phone with dell after 2 HOURS. I ordered two axims on two diff orders and signed up for prefereed customer account also. He said he would give me the order with the 40 off offer they had and will note in my packing slip that my order was placed during the rebate time period offer so that they will be approved but he said he knew NOTHING about a 25 off credit for prefered account. Can anyone tell me if there is anyone in particular i can call or anyway to go about getting that approved for at least one of these orders? Oh, he also agreed to upgrade me to 2 day shipping for free for my trouble. Thanks for any help and info.

I order one last friday, I only recieve the first order email. Since than I did not receive a order confiramatioin email (the second one). I tried to call dell today, all I can get is the stupid auto sales check. I can't even get to talk to a CSR, are they working 24 hours there? It said their office is close at 6 pm CST on the first email. I wonder if this is ture, can anyone help me out on how to talk to a real person over at dell?

when you call dell, make the phone call like your placing an order--goto sales, and then to peripherals, then try to buy an Axim--when the sales rep gets on the phone, explain your situation to him/her and they'll be more than happy to help you out.

I asked my sales rep about it, and he said the rebate would be fine--the packing order will show that it was ordered before the 19th, and that is all that is needed for the rebate.

I have rebates listed on the detail of both of my orders. One just has the $40 off and one has the $40 off and something else that the Dell CSR put on there. I don't know what he did, but when I called to confirm the 2nd order, he had to reorder and he gave me a cheaper price than my original $40 + $25 coupons (after adding a travel sync cable and some extra stylii!)

Got my axim yesterday. Thing is awesome!!

My own problem is the transfer rates on usb. Does this thing support USB 2?
