I couldn't get it to work... it said my axim didn't meet requirements. I'm guessing it's the:

Is there a way to purchase the Axim w/o going through the systems configurator?

I tried the same thing a few weeks ago with the $ off combined with a % off, for some reason the system didn't think I had reached the $400 mark to get the discount. Last week I did get it to work and I got the X30, with the leather flip case and extra battery for $340 shipped. Though it appears they are taking at least 3 weeks to build the Axim's, so I get to wait until the second week in August to get it.

Yeah, you have to buy the Axim through a regular product link - not the "customize system" way. If you go to the site in my sig I have a direct link that works, or you can just go to Dell and search for item # HX301YR.

Ooooh.....tempting. I'm getting a little bored of my Sony Clie T665 and $266.65 for a speed demon like this with WiFi sounds killer. Anyone else got one of these? How do you like them?

Did some researching and bought it. Amazing that I paid $230 for my Clie only 18 months ago with a 66 MHz Dragonball-Z processor and 16 MB RAM, no wireless and no multitasking.

I have one of these things and it's been great so far. I use the WiFi at home, and it's pretty cool checking my email and surfing the web while sittin'on the couch. Of course, the version of IE on there isn't great, but for a PDA, it's not half-bad.

As I've done further reading, I'm getting pretty geeked about this. The latest version of M$ Money has a PPC version as well (been using UltraMoney with my Palm OS units) included and it's only $17 AR at Costco and M$ Streets & Trips can DL to PPC units, so now I can have maps on the road and if I get a BlueTooth GPS, I'll never be lost again!

how big is this sucker? and how big is it with a decent case? pocketable? will it fit comfortably in a suit pocket? i carry my PDA around with me everywhere in my pocket, so size is definately a factor.

I used to have a Handspring Visor that I bought a Palm III belt-clip case to carry it in and when I got my Clie T665, I used the same case, though it was a bit larger. Well, the Axim is SMALLER than the Clie and fits looser overall in the case - it's a bit wider. With it's plastic case, it feels lighter than the metal-cased Clie. Check the dimensions on the Dell site. BTW: it comes with a case like came with 2G iPods - not bad, but the case I have provides more protection.
