Dell BIOS =(

Is there any known way to get the lock off of the Dell BIOS? I kinda want to try some overclocking, and this is really annoying me. I've got the new A06 BIOS, if that matters at all.

Yeah they did. I wish I had known more about computers when I bought this thing. When i get the money, i'm building my own...
HP, Compaq, Dell, and eMachines can cater to their ignorant, technologically challenged families. I'm going elsewhere.

They lock it so you dont ****** it overclocking, and want a new one.

HP and Dell make some of the best personal computers. The systems are thoroughly engineered, and often the very best value. A friend of mine needs a PC with a fax/printer. His best interest is buying a Dell combo. Enthusiast's choince? No. Good computer? Yes.

Someday soon, upgrading a system will be history. MS, Sony, Nintendo, Apple et cetera are rapidly moving towards full-blown machines the size of a book. MS has already beheaded Creative (and all other sound cards) by moving all sound processing into the CPU. Intel is desparate to do the same with video.

Most of the video used to happen in the CPU originally. The GPU became a big thing because it took the load off the CPU. Now intel wants to go back? Definitely not a good idea for the high-performance video needs for games and such.

And I happen to like a full-size system, notebooks are a pain to work on since nothing is standard and it is so stinkin' small. Even if it was standardized, it would still be tiny and a pain to work on. But then, macs were never exactly the easiest things to work on anyway... screw apple

*EDIT* O yeah the reason why Dell, HP, etc don't have any OC capabilities in their BIOS's is so no one screws up the settings, fries the CPU, and tries to RMA. Most people who know anything about OC'ing wouldn't buy a prebuilt system like that

So its stupid proof for noobs who dont know how to overclock dont break their machine.
