Evil! Evil! must...resist...temptation...

Actually I picked up a different Dell 15'' LCD that had a VGA hook-up and an additional DVI-ish looking connecter to link it to another monitor of the same type. Good monitor though.

I have the VG150 from the super deal this past summer, but i'd love to have dual flat panels...(drool drool..)

A few question...

1. Is 15" too small ?
2. no DVI ?
3. I have been watching 15" LCD for a while and $262 no rebate/tax/free ship seems decent deal, u guys think will 15" will drop into $150- 200 range very soon?

thanks in advance ...

yes, dell's customer service isn't exactly the best, it's outright pathetic at times. They can tell you your order shipped, but no tracking number, no estimated arrival date, nothing on who is delivering it. Oh well, guess that's why the prices are so low.

jimmyhaha,
A 15" Flat Panel Monitor is roughly the equivalent of a 17" standard CRT monitor, simply because most 17" monitors are only 15.x" viewable. So to answer your question, if you are upgrading from a 15" CRT monitor, it won't seem that small (bigger in fact). If you are already accustomed to a 19+" monitor, then it will then depend on what kind of tradeoff/features you are willing to compromise with (ie. flickerfree vs. size vs. aberration, etc...).

According to this, the prices are supposed to be evening out or slightly increasing. So maybe there won't be a real significant price drop anytime soon.

Got this from dell after I inquiry abot the warranty:

"Please note that the monitor is under warranty from Dell for 30 days. After the 30th day the monitor is supported and warranted by the original manufacturer."

They never tell me who is the original manufacturer.

in the docs page at Dell, it says under Regulatory Notices that the unit is made by Acer. I believe it also says that the Acer model name is the FP553.
You can try to make sense of it yourself at the link

After a little searching, I found this at Acer's website. In the specifications, it lists a Contrast of 350:1, 30ms response time, and brightness of 250 nits.

Since I'm only a RPG and lite FPS games player, I'll try to convince the missus to let me buy one...

I'm pretty sure that this is long dead - sorry to mrpuck, PoorDog & MrHappyMonkey

If it is dead, rutchtkim, you should really change the title.

According to my coupon code database on my site (FlamingBargains.com) the coupon was this:

Dell Home Customer: $25 off Software and Peripheral Orders over $150

$25 off $150, code notallowedtopostithere , expires Jan 7

Long gone.

I did get in on this however, and I currently typing on my TWO black 15" Dell $262 monitors =)

They said they would "ship on or before January 15th" and they came within 2-3 days of my order (I got them about a week ago). Everybody knows that their ordering system is screwed up though.

Deal is dead unless a new coupon pops up.

P.S. 20% off dell branded accs. expires on January 28th according to my site.

My LCD arrived, and it's awesome! Thanks for posting this sweet deal!

Question: I know that Dell doesn't manufacture most of the products they sell. They just put computers together or rebadge stuff they buy from other manufacturers, for the most part anyway.

Does anyone know what company product and model this LCD is? (It may be a Samsung.)

What does the E151FP stand for?

Anyone know?

E probably stands for Envision. Just a guess.

I don't think it's an Envision. The Envision one is here. This is the only 15" LCD they make, as far I could tell by looking through their website.

Here is the Dell LCD.

They resemble each other closely. To spot the difference between the two, look at the buttons (from left to right)--Dell LCD has five buttons and a light. The Envision LCD has four buttons, then a light and maybe another button. The stand doesn't look the same either.

Some of the specs match.

Figure this one out yet, anyone?
