I had to jump on this - got a 9100 with 2.8GB SXWGA/256, DVD/RW (free upgrade) 60GB/7200rpm HDD, Buetooth and Wifi 1350 cards and 3 year warranty (important for notebooks in general and this new one specifically(because it is unproven)) for under $1700 - this is at least $600 less than a similarly configured XPS 3.4 (non EE) (512MB ram (worthless if you want 1GB)

Apart from an XPS 3.4EE this is the fastest notebook around

I am getting RAM (1GB from crucial or mushkin ($300 or less) as opposed to to Dell's $400 (+ I get to keep the original 256MB)
