That's misleading. Note the text: "Your rebate request has been received and is in process. If you do not receive your rebate check six weeks from the indicated 'Date Rebate Shipped' please call us at 888.292.0667."

Mine was verified and accepted in early November and my actual "shipped" date is 5 weeks ago and I still haven't received the rebate check. So your guess is as good as mine as to what "shipped" means. It sure doesn't mean delivered to the post office as evidenced by the 6 week disclaimer and real world experience.

some of my friends just bought some 250gb hd around thanksgiving and got their checks already (i'm guessing in the amount of 50 or so, dont remember) I've been waiting for my check to come forever now, seems like WD is reluctant to fork over that $200.

Haven't received mine either, and it has been a long time. Dell has been bad about fulfilling rebates on any screaming deals I've had from them. I once had to resubmit a $100 rebate 5 different times, I had to get belligerent in the end - and I find it distasteful to be bellligerent.

I had purchased two of these drives, and filed the rebates to two separate addresses.

I have not yet received the rebates themselves and in fact, I called the WD rebate center with no luck. They said, "just wait until the 8 weeks are up and call us again".

I called and was told that "its on the way" so I guess we should be recieving it anytime.

WD was good at send me the missing ATA card, but they have been jacking me around with the rebate. My brother received an email stating receipt of his rebate, so after 3 weeks I called them. They stated they never got it. They told me to send copies to another P.O. Box, and it was returned because the new P.O. Box was CLOSED. So, I called again and resent the rebates documents. Finally, received an email from them a week ago. My rebate is dated to be "shipped" 1/1/04. If they're shipping on 1/1/04 why would it take 4 weeks? As inefficient as the USPS is, it doesn't take 4 weeks for them to delivery from Young America, MN. I'm glad I'm getting my rebate, but I'm not impressed with WD when it comes to rebate. I do have to admit that they are very good when it comes to customer service. I always get to talk to someone without a long wait.

WD only do this on big amount rebates. Other than that, most of my WD rebates are within 8 weeks.

Dont get all excited just yet, mine was verified and accepted on 11/11/2003 with estimated ship date of 11/21/2003 since i got the email notification on 11/14/03. I have yet to see any reabte :|

Officially, they have violated the terms of their rebate becuase it has exceed the 10 weeks. No good ... is it time for someone to send them an official letter?

I called the number on the rebate form.I was told they had recieved my claim,but Dell and Western Digital have taken control of the rebates.The lady said she had no other knowledge of when (if) the rebate will be honored.It looks like DELL is going back on the $200 rebates again.If you ask "Cathy" on Dells customer care forums,she says call the toll free number on the form.Round and round we go!!

I just received my 100 dollar rebate for this today, I checked the status on the website and they changed the estimated ship date from November to an actual date of 12/31/2003. I'm still waiting for the 200 dollar rebate though, i'm guessing it will change soon too.

Not only have I not recieved my two 100 rebates, I called Western digital and they said they haven't recieved a thing from me. Since I have a copy of my stuff they gave me the following information to fax back to them and they will send it out within two weeks:
Here's what I'm supposed to send.
full name and address
ph#
email address
Cover letter with addressed to: Western Digital 200GB Dell 200 rebate
PO Box#4005

Include the following documentation
rebate
packing slip and /or (more is better I guess) order confirmation
copy of UPC

Place your name on each separate page to avoid getting mixed with others.

fax that info to: 866-843-9964

I rec. both rebates in todays mail. I also was sent email confirmation about 10 days ago that rebate was ok'd,
Nice country america.. Normally I would not have gone after a rebate that I knew was not correct but when I was talking to dell rep they said yes was good. In my book that is just like warning them. One thing though we should appreciate the fact that dell stood behind the error and made sure it went through. Most other shops are just saying sorry we made an error to bad so sad... Thanks Dell for standing behind this one.
