Dell Honoring WD 200GB Drive for $22 after $200MIR

I just received my drive today! Totally unexpected!

Placed order Sept 26th.
Canceled order Oct 2, after lots of talk of rebates not being honored, etc.
Received e-mail stating that both rebates were to be honored.
Received drive today!

Question, the e-mail spoke of a 21 day lead time, and instructions would be included to receive the rebate. My drive did not come with any instructions for the rebate!

Has anyone tried to send in the rebates to YA yet?
I'm probably going to call dell, but was curious if YA will honor this one off the bat or if I have to go through Dell.

It came with the controller card too!


Does anyone have links to the rebates? I have them at home but I'd like to print them out here at work.

Well, it seems like the original Rebates will not be honored, I think I may just hold on to my drive for a few days and see if they send out more information on the "Revised" rebates

Drive arrived by a few moments ago. Has an ATA controller card inside. I had ordered at about 2am on 9-26.

I can't thank people enough for this one, a huge hard drive for 22 $ Only in America. No other place could do this. I have mine in and I am sending it in today. Lets hope it does not take the 7 months the last 50 rebate took from WD. If all goes well the excitement I feel is good lol

I'm not sure what you're sending in today. Dell has not posted the revised MIR yet. If you send in the original MIR, you will not get your money back

i was wondering why there's still a thread on this. the deal is done, and good.

and why would you need to send in a revised MIR? i guess perhaps since you got it late? well, as for me, i ordered it on that weekend, got it the week after. i guess it's sort of diff for me?

You still have to wait for the revised MIR. because WD will not honor both rebates. Dell is the one that will take care of that. Both of the originla rebates were addressed to WD

Where did you hear about a revised MIR? I figure dell would have notified us by now (along with the all the emails sent out) if there was indeed a revised rebate form. I was assuming the original rebate forms would be ok and that dell would send the funds to cover the additional rebate. At least that was the case last time with circuit city.

I was wondering the same thing. I received my drive with only the Packing Slip with a date of 10/6, but no Invoice. My original order date was 9/26. After checking an old invoice from another order, the invoice does have the Order Date on it. Just as a precaution, I went online to request my invoice to be sent to my house.

That's what some guy at bloated change bag said. I don't why they would need to revise anything, since all they need to do is look at the purchase date on the receipt (with the last DELL rebate I used the order confirmation email I got from DELL).
