I've found the info on dell posting updated rebate forms on their forums. Here is the announcement.

Your receipt should be your order confirmation (that's when you bought it and the payment was accepted) not the packing slip.

Your receipt should be your order confirmation (that's when you bought it and the payment was accepted) not the packing slip.

Actually, they will send you an invoice in a day or two after they place the actual charge on your account

Did anyone receive their dell invoice by snail mail yet? My rebate form is ready except invoice.

Got mine today with a Promise ATA100 card. Hard to believe Windows 98 through XP won't recognize more than 137 GB. What are people doing about that, using the ATA100 card or the Intel patch?

UPDATE:

The revised rebate form will be out on Monday. I don't know which one, but I think the one that expires on purchase date Sept. 27, 2003. The other form you can use, it's OK. This is from my thread with Dell's forums.

For anyone who does not know, you can print you invoice at Dell's site once you are logged in.

I just went to the Dell site, logged in, and clicked on Order History, then clicked on this order number, and a window opened up with an invoice page with "Electronic Certified Copy" in red at the top right corner. It was an idiot window with no menu stuff at the top, but ctrl P and it printed out just fine. Shows my order date as 9/26/03, and even has the correct serial number of my drive, so I am guessing it should work fine.

All I am going to wait for is to see if a revised rebate form is posted in the next couple days.

Dell just e-mailed me the $200 rebate form to use. That's right, one form, $200 rebate.

If someone can host it, I will e-mail it to them. It is a pdf file.

Yep, i also posted there, as I did here, that if anyone wanted to host it they should contact me, and they e-mailed me and I sent it. NO one here at Anandtech has replied to me that they are willing to host it, so I guess everyone will have to go to FW to get it.

Any suggestions from the AT community? I have a packing slip dated the 6th of October, when my order was placed on the 26th of September. I've printed out a order page showing this, but I dunno if they'll take it because there is nothing to correlate the two sheets of paper, not even an order number.

Use the "Electronic Certified Copy".

It should have your order number
It should have your original order date
It should have your invoice date


Or wait a couple days and your actual receipt will arrive via snail mail.

I believe I read somewhere that Dell should be sending us an invoice. An old invoice from a different order has the original order date on it, which in this case should be 9/26. As a precaution, I requested a copy of the invoice. You can do this by going to Customer Support -> Customer Care -> View Documents -> Invoices.

I tried an old order and it displays an "Electronic Certified Copy". But my order for the WD Drive, does not come up. Maybe because they haven't entered the order into the system. But if it doesn't come up, you can still request a copy to be sent to your home address.

FWIW: It will tell you 10 to 12 business days which will go beyond the "30 day from order" postmark deadline. And when there was a a similar situation with 120GB drives last year, the Dell forums were overflowing with posts from people saying they didn't get them even 12 buisness days after requested.

Everybody should calm down. As I posted earlier, I received the rebate form directly from Dell as an e-mail attachment.

It says that the rebate must be postmarked within 30 days of invoice date. Got that? Invoice date!

I received my drive last week. I have not yet received my receipt via snail mail, but I downloaded a Certified Electronic Copy from their website. It specifically says:

Order date: 9/25/03
Invoice date: 10/07/03

Get it? The order date is important to QUALIFY for the rebate.

The invoice date is important for the POSTMARK of the rebate.

The date your drive ships will be the invoice date, and you'll be able to send in for your rebate.

So relax and chill.

Well, I don't worry about the date of my order but the forms that were used. I used the two original $100 rebate forms which I hope will qualify for both.
