I guess this price compares favorably with the Inspiron 2650 1.7GHz that recently sold on Ebay for $24,906.15...that one had 512MB memory, a CDRW/DVD Combo Drive and a 40GB hard drive though, so I guess it was worth the extra cost :Q :Q

I'm thinking more towards the 8100. more for your money and cheaper after rebates for those that can wait a few months.

Just don't forget the Mobile P4 is A LOT weaker than a Mobile P3 or Athlon 4. The P4 needs about 25-40% more Mhz to equal the P3 or Athlon.

Same here. I don't really need the power of a P4, the P3 1GHz is perfect for my needs.

Plus like you said the 8100 is cheaper.
