Just curious Why there are no deals posted on latitude series ?
As far as I know Latitude has enhanced network capabilities.
Any thoughts/experiences to share ?

Thanks.

Acura3, my guess is that it's because Latitudes are marketed toward business clients... Business leases/purchases do sometimes come at reduced rates due to some contract between companies, but never really the super-low prices that we consumers at AT go for. Kinda like how airlines really make the highest profit margin on passengers that are business travelers locked into corporate rates (often higher than the advertised rate) or that must travel last minute. Just my guess at the answer to a good question; if someone has a more definitive one, do correct the fraggle.

Long time no see Remember the good 'ole Shopss.com days?

If you don't mind the added weight and bulk of a larger 15" TFT display then YES it's definitely worth upgrading to the 15" SXGA. If it were a 15" XGA then NO it would not be worth it. I have a 15" SXGA on my Compaq Presario 1500T and love it, the text isn't large nor is it very small and unreadable, just perfect.

As for the video, what's the default video card?

I noticed on the memory options it says "512MB, 266MHz, for the price of 256MB!! (mail in rebate not available) " -- So you lose the MIR but gain 256 MB memory?

It is still cheaper to just Throw away the 128 chip and put in a 256 or 512 than it is to lose the rebate and to upgrade with them if you want more memory. You can add 256 for $40 Here and maybe sellt he 128 on Flea bay or throw it away. You end up w/ 384 for $40 more than 256 -- not a good investment per se, but adding 512 to this in effect cost 100 rebate when all you are adding to the system is 256 More for $100. If you need 512, maybe it is better to forego the rebate so you do not have to throw away memory

Very tempting......I'm not sure about the non-mobile processor and the lack of a pointer stick, but the price is right

Hmmm, the coupon doesn't seem to be working for me© Do you have to be signed in to for it to show up under Discounts?

So far it just says - $150©

And hey, how what's the 600M deal like?

Ordered a 2.4 with 15" SXGA and all the options for $1120 after tax (and the $100 rebate I need to do later). Thanks!

Same as the one posted, except I added the 15" SXGA display. Used all the coupons and that's considering the $100 rebate I need to deal with later.

The 600m is cool, but I assume a P4 2.4 is going to be a heck of a lot faster than a Centrino 1.6 or whatever. Also the battery life is supposed to be really good on the 5100s (obviously not as good as the 600M); they are a bit heavy though.

Can you guys get the "$943.10 + Free Shipping" deal posted in the original topic? Consider that his deal didn't mention the tax (for me, 7.25%) and his price was shown AFTER the $100 rebate (Dell prices it out without the $100 rebate). So the deal should show "1118.61" on Dell.com once it is ready to ship. Before tax it should show $1043.10.

Once he's sent in the $100 MIR, it's down to $1018.61, total, after tax and free shipping, all other rebates applied.

If you can price out that deal, then just add the 15" SXGA option ($100). The subtotal should be $1143.10 before tax. Add tax and it should go up to $1228.83 and it'll ship at that price. Once you receive the product, send in the $100 MIR and you'll have the notebook for $1128.83. My invoice says "$1,220.62" though and clearly indicates it's the P4 2.4 w/ SXGA, CDRW/DVD, etc. The $100 rebate is on its way as well.

Is this deal still valid? Maybe that's the problem.
