Dell Inspiron 8600 Users

I've had my laptop for about a month now and my "C" key has fallen off twice while typing already. Wow, talk about one $hitty ass keyboard. After it falls off, I have to manually snap it back into place.... Does anyone else have this problem?

44 views and not a single reply...Should I send back my keyboard for repairs or something? The C keeps popping off. Just the other day the "H" fell off as well...

Pretty soon the "E" key will fall off. Followed by "A" and "P".

Seriously, though, it sounds like a bad keyboard. Try to get it replaced before the warranty expires.

I'd get it replaced, it sounds like yours is bad. I've been typing my thesis on mine for the past month without any problems.

I've never had any problems with mine. Call Dell and get them to send you a new one.

I've had 4 keyboards replaced on my Inspiron 8600 for various reasons since I bought it in January (including one yesterday).

YGPM. Here's what the PM said:

Do you have on-site service or mail-in service? I have on-site. On my keyboard, some of the keys partially came off (I would have to 'click' them in). I had a few other problems which I can't remember. The keyboard is a "customer replaceable" part so they won't want to send a tech. It's kinda a pain, but if you're careful it'll work (takes ~20 mins). They'll give you a return shipping label for the old keyboard. I'd recommend emailing their support instead of calling. Tell them specifically that it needs to be replaced. I've found them to be a lot better about doing things for you by email than over the phone (you don't have to wait on hold this way also).
