I would keep the screen at XGA. I have a WUXGA M170 and I wish could downgrade to XGA...

XGA is way too big to be honest. For a 17", WUXGA should be fine.

How about XGA+? The middle resolution.

two flavors of screen. XGA+ (no coating) and UXGA (with the reflective coating). I have the UXGA and like it so far. backlight bleed has dimished with use ... I don't know why.
