well...don't complain. my rep cancelled my order when i mentioned i want to upgrade to 'sxga screen' and then i also said I'd like to know if I can get refund on the CompleteCare since I'm in California. The guy was confused, had to 'consult' his manager...called me back in about 30 mins and asked me how did I get that $1193 quote? I told him I just add this, add that, bada bing bada boom. The gist is he can't get my original price back, and there's nothing he can do about it.

Called a couple more times, all I got was "your order has been cancelled, we cannot do anything about it."... sigh... this was a good deal at $1193(with 20GbHD, good battery), hot if you can get CompleteCare refund... was just a little greedy trying to ask for the SXGA upgrade in hopes that the CompleteCare refund would offset the upgrade, and now I got shafted...

Any number I can call to complain?

Actually it says "can be combined with any promotion"
I called and they said getting the cdrw or dvd does not void the $100 rebate
But you do have to go through the education link when you order.
And supply your student information.

ahwei, im sorry to hear that. The first rep i got was like that, i told him about completecare is not availabe in CA and he was like wat , blah blah
and later on he put me on hold and then tell me that he have to cancel my order so i can choose another warrenty plan ... which is dUMB..
as soon as i heard the cancel word, i was like .." oh really.. umm... nevermind then ... i will just stick with the completecare blah blah" and just hang up right away....Im sorry bc the upgrade thingy screw up ur order ... but

just ask him how much would it be if u want to upgrade your display to SXGA
and PLEASE dont just ask any rep about the special upgrade, it mite get you deal ruined as for ahwei
But i think by now , it would be too late to upgrade neway ... but try it if u want ..

The upgrade supposely cost 70 dollar more.. but somehow when i called and asked him about it, he said something about special going on so i get it
for -$10 ... i was like wtf too, scaring that if adding the SXGA would offset the total price, but i guess he just went in and took off 10 bux and got me a new order number..
just hopefully he didn't change the damn setup .... my old one was almost in production... and suppose to ship it on the 18th.. but now it is
still in order processing ... .so ... *cross my fingers* and please let me get it !! ;D

Well i will email your rep. My laptop is suppose to ship on the 18th. But I feel that saving 100 is not that much when spendin 1000+.Thast only 10%. SXGA sounds like a good deal or 1100. But 1200? that's a lot beans. I spent about 1000 already in Dell last month alone.

I'd be careful with any changes at this point. Last thing you want to do is make a change and ended up with no laptop or them backtracking...

Just for the record, I too had Jared as my original rep.

Jared is not my rep, someone just post his info on the sec page, so i just called up the dude
I would also agree with TeMpT, any change you make right now might very well screw up ur deal
as they have to cancel it and re order for you.

Not try to be selfish here, but with everyone calling Jared to get the display upgrade deal
some of you might screw up the deal for me, as my deal is not finalize yet
so PLEASE, PLEASE just ask how much to upgrade to SXGA , and wait till them tell u about the special
and not just bust out some stoopid thing like
"i know i can get the display upgrade for 10 bux less, one of the guy did it , blah blah blah"
PLEASE..

You will not be able to get a credit on for the CompleteCare package because your sales (at least mine) removed it from my order and didn't credit me for it.

I canceled my order with Dell. I don't think it was such a hot deal anymore.

Hey DonBlack, how did you manage to get the csr to make this change for you without cancelling and reordering the laptop? My csr said that I had to cancel the whole thing and select sxga if I wanted to upgrade...

I am wondering the same thing.

Also, my ship date was moved back to the 26th from the 17th. It has been 'in production' for 5 days now. Which means that I will not have it for my flight back home for Christmas.

I guess I was just lucky. My rep wasn't very helpful but he wasn't an ass either. He would make a change and then raise the price. Or, he would lower the price but downgrade the screen. Stupid back-and-forth stuff like that. Finally, he got it right. Some people paid less for the SXGA upgrade, I had to actually pay $70 more.... It's all luck of the draw I guess.

Affirmative. If you look, there is a Micron sticker on the actual stick that says:
"256mb, SYNCH, 133mhz, CL3"
So if you go through their memory selector thing, it IS the correct memory. It is Dell branded Micron Cas3 133mhz.
And it's so cute too...awwwwwww.

My order was originally for 12/17 shipping, then delayed till 12/26. Now it show as shipped

guess not upgrading to the SXGA paid off. Now I'll get this before xmas.

Odz,

I would be very careful. As I mentioned before, my sales rep didn't seem to check over my order after each change and it took 5 written e-mails before I had locked in the right config at the correct price. Watch your invoice!
