Long story short, Tech Support said go with SODIMM,256MB,133Mhz,32X64,8K,144pin which is $50.95 less discount....so I guess it is only a couple of dollars cheaper than Crucial....Guess I am going with the Crucial instead.

Well that sucks then because I went through Dell's little memory selector and it told me to get the $36 sticks, so I have already ordered and everything.

Question about credit cards doubling the warranty? If I pay with Discover Platinum do I get 2 years for warranty? And who is giving the warranty after the first year? thanks

And in regards to the memory....

According to the Dell tech guy, he said you can't really trust the description. He said the safe bet would be to order the one that specified PC133. I guess worst case for ppl with the "recommended" Upgrade memory would be to send it back....I am just tired of the hassle.

Now...the debate is Dell's 133 for $42 or Crucial's for $49....what a dilemma

My account rep went home for the day, so I haven't heard yet if I can upgrade the screen to SXGA. I'll find out tomorrow morning. Either way, I'll post a message here letting people know if it is possible.

Ok, Supposing I decide to try to call up and change my order slightly, i.e. add warranty extens..., Is there a chance that the sales rep might say "hey this order was a pricing mistake" and cancel it? I.e. is there any risk of losing your order if you call up and attempt to change?

In any case, can someone provide a number?

Alright, another question, anyone know where they ship from? I'm figuring shipping by the 18th most likely won't make it by christmas....Damn

Also, does anyone know FOR SURE if this model can support 2 simultaneous hard drives, cdrw drive, and battery?

I'd hate to need to upgrade the hd in the future and not be able to use the existing drive at the same time.

Thanks

<< Thanks TeMpT but I'm ordering a Dell Dimension 4300S desktop for my wife not this laptop. I'm going through Small Business since the special is a free Palm m105 PDA and free shipping which beats the Home Office special. Since I live in Oregon there is zero sales tax regardless of where I order from.

Those of you who have called Dell Small Business to have your order "adjusted", what number did you dial and what options did you press?

Thanks.

Ross I have known you for a while, did you get married recently? Last I heard about your family you were talking about living in a house with a few friends. Did you settle down?

Oh yeah, great laptop deal guys. I ordered a Toshiba and it's 2 months delayed. The money I saved from work is zilch now because prices have fallen.

Deal is now $1267 (with 20 gig hard drive and bigger battery) minus the $25 coupon if that still works.
