Dell Mini 10 touchpad

Could you owners of the Mini 10/10v please comment on the touchpad. I'm thinking of buying one but I've heard a lot of bad things about the buttons being integrated into the touchpad.

I didnt like it but you have to get used to it It is like a rocker type touchpad

I don't like touchpads at all, on any laptop/netbook, but the mini's didn't seem any worse than any other touchpad.

My understanding is that the mini 10 and mini 10v have different touchpads with the Mini 10's being decent. The touchpad on my mini 10v has taken some adjustment and tweaking. Overall, I do not like it. It is likely I will sell it and get a different netbook (or possibly an older 12" laptop like the 700m). My wife does not like it at all. She has an XPS1330 that is in for repair and hates using the Mini 10v. Part of that is the touchpad and part of that is the screen resolution. Obviously an XPS1330 is going to be a better experience than a mini but she really doesn't like the touchpad which shouldn't be that much different.

The 10v touchpad works great and I didn't have any issues with the buttons being intergrated. btw, I have big hands.

Did you make any adjustments to the touchpad? I have never seen anyone say it works great. In fact, I've never read a single positive comment on it.

No, I use it just the way it comes. I might have changed the speed, can't remember. At least 10 people have used my 10v and nobody has any problem with it.

I had a Mini 10 before and didn't like the multi-touch features on that one, but it wasn't a big deal.

is multi touch feature controlled by software I think it was Elan software?

I have no trouble with the 10v touchpad except for my fingers brushing it when I type, causing my focus to move. I could never get the Elan software to cooperate, or uninstall (it's hooked - which is a bunch of crap!). Anyway, I had to re-install my Vista Basic OS so I just skipped installing the Elan software. The pad is now running on the MS PS/2 driver & works better than ever - just like the pad on my E1705, only I can't adjust any sensitivities.

I'm using the latest 12/23/09 Synaptics touchpad driver/software from Dell for my mini 10V with Win 7. Works fine.
