Damnit. Delayed shipping until the 27th. This is bullshit... I remember when I ordered my Axim. They kept delaying and delaying. Dell really sucks in this respect.

I got in on the Dell FP1800 deal for 4580 and couldnt be happier. The FP1900 has reported ghosting problems hence the reason why the 1800's are backordered. I am an avid gamer and played almost every game out there with no problems.

There's a coupla things to get the maximum performance out of the FP1800 and thats to set the resoultion at 1280x1024 and use the DVI connection. If you are not doing those two things then thats why you are having problems with clear text.

I will say that movies look a tad bit sharper on my crt monitor but thats only noticable by a side by side comparison which i stumbled across messing with the dual monitor capabilities of my Albatron Ti4200. As far as games...Bloodrayne = Great, UT2003 = Great, Counter-Strike = Great, Hulk Demo = Great, Red Faction II = Good.

But if you have dual monitor on yoru vid card play UT2003 with the clone option on. Not only do you look 7337.....heh ...with the game on two displays but u can make a great comparison, even though its DVI vs Analog and DVI almost always wins out.... my 2 cents.

For those who didn't get on this deal and are willing to pay a higher price for it, Staples has it for 479.94 after a rebate of $60 and $20 instant savings. There should be a $30 off $150 coupon flying arround which would make it $449.94.

Of all the reviews I've read on LCD monitors, 30 MS is definitely inadequate for gaming. If you want no ghosting whatsoever, you will have to buy a monitor with 16ms response. There are no monitors with that response bigger than 17 inches at the moment. I personally have a NEC1760NX and there is no ghosting.

The 1800FP has 30ms response time. Games play great on it.
