Obvious chilidish remark, LCD's are the future crt's will eventually be gone why ? lcd's offer gorgous picture and clartity almost comparible to crt and they take up far less space and power and come in widescreen and are not that expensive compared to top quality crt's so its not ripping your self off but personal prefernece.

I think you mean 1680 x 1050. I plugged mine in (DVI) & no adjustments were necessary other than setting my display properties to 1680 x 1050. Is there something about the displayed image that doesn't look correct to you ? If running analog in then do a google for Nokia's monitor test software. You can find it a bunch of places for free download, or monitors direct toolkit. Either will put up display patterns so you can adjust the geometry, etc.

Now that I got my 2005fpw I would never get the 2001fp this thing is beyond nice for the money nothing can touch it. The clarity of windows Media HD clips was amazing at 1024dpi....

Got mine and it is amazing. I have a widescreen TV and would never go back to a 'square' TV. Therefore I wanted to do the same with the computer.
No regrets. This thing is amazing ... looks nice... small foot print... Cant wait to get into the gamin.

Yah its so bright somtimes the colors may look a little washed out compared to my old crt but its very minimal its definetly a huge step over my samsung 900IFT and dell 19" Triniton CRT... I cant compliment this monitor more.

RubberDuckie: What settings are you using all stock. ? Also what video card and drivers. ?

I ordered one today, and my estimated ship date is the 22nd.

I'm going to run a dual monitor setup with a 2001FP and 2005FPW. Can't wait.

You will love it mine has 0 dead pixels and it has no signs of developing any either. I ran it very hard within the first couple minutes of power on.

Does anyone know or can tell me if the 2005 has the same "zoom in/out on signal" feature that was talked about in the anandtech review of the 2001. This would be really handy to know. Thanks for any input.

In the anandtech review of the 2001FP herethey say,

On a cheerier note, this LCD let's you ?zoom? in or out on a signal. Want to run a 1024x768 game without any pixel interpolation? Simply zoom out on the signal and you will have the 1024x768 box in the middle of the screen. Counter Strike addicts rejoice!

I was just curious if you could do this in the 2005FP as well. Thanks

A sad italian guy...!

Hi Guys... my name is Andrea and i live in Rome.
I'm very interested in this DELL - UltraSharp 2005FPW both for its features and for its price: $ 719 (alias 559 Euro) is a very good price!
BUT...
But this LCD will be presented in Europe, so in Italy, about 22 November with the price of 869 Euro (alias $ 1.130)!!! I'm very angry for this!
SO...
So i wish to know if someone can give me some ideas, suggestions or advices to solve this problem! Because i wish to buy 3 or 4 of this LCD!

Thank you for any info or help!

Regards,

Andrea

Andrea try bringing this difference to the attention of your rep. You may get a concession but with VAT etc and different price points in Europe you are unlikely to ge the same price.
