The artical shows the ultra struggling in doom 3 and unreal 2004 but your right about halflfie 2, it does OK but not perfect.. dropping under 60 during one bench.
While a gt at ultra speeds would be playable it would not stay above 60 when the aa and af is on.....unless these benches are far more taxing then real world game play?

I am not sure if i want to get a 2005 or not i noticed that Samsung has the LTM210M1 tft panel ready for production q4 of 04. In my optinion S-PVA is far superior to S-IPS in image quality however i don't wanna wait forever for a monitor based on this panel to come out... Opinions?

Well, I just got my 2005FP in today. I think I only have a few dead pixels and the backlighting isn't too bad, but everything seems kinda blurry. Mostly text. I've turned on CLeartype. How much of a difference does using DVI on this monitor? I have a NVidia Quadro 700GXL and I've never tried to use the DVI until now, and I can't seem to get a signal out of it. I unplug the analog cable and plug in the DVI (to my video card) and try to switch the monitor to input 2, but nothing ever happens. Maybe the DVI is bad on the card.
I don't know. This thing is bright, for sure. I turned down the brightness to 50. I have a 2001FP that should be here tomorrow. I hope it's a little better. Maybe I was expecting too much from my first LCD, but I'm not too impressed so far. I played Painkiller in 1680x1050 and it was ok. Nothing special. I was kinda expecting to be blown away or something.

THanks for the info. Yeah, I've been really bummin' about my first LCD experience. It looks as if I'm going to have to buy a new video card asap afterall.
Does it sound like I'm doing everything right on the video card end? I have both analog and digital cables in the monitor right now. And the VGA is hooked up to my video card. I read to not have them hooked up at the same time, so what I do is I unplug the analog from my video card, plug in the DVI cable, and then press the input select button on the monitor to switch to the DVI. That should be all I need to do right?
Can anyone recommend a cheap DVI video card? I was really hoping to wait at least until next year (Jan-Feb) to buy a new card so maybe the 6600GT AGP prices would setle down a little and I also wanted to wait and see about the new x800 cards coming out.
Man, I really hope my experinece is the same and the DVI looks a lot better. On a kind of unrelated note, my 2001FP is on the truck for delivery today. So I'll be able to have them side by side to compare.

I didnt see it posted above.
driver,For most games, I play at 1680x1050, no AA or AF on my BFG6800 (overclocked and all pipes enabled) and the frame rates are silky smooth on doom3, farcry, cs source, and most of half life 2.

What are your system specs? I'm curious to see how different they are compared to mine. My system isn't capable of any of what you mentioned. The ONLY game that you could almost say runs "silky smooth" at 1680 x 1050 on this LCD is CS:S. That's it! Oh, I do run everything with AA and AF enabled, come to think of it...
Thanks in advance!
