Ugh this is horrible.
Replacement 2005fpw (built in december) has no backlight issues. Instead it has 5 stuck red pixels, ( 3 in the lower middle two on the left edge) 3 stuck blue pixels ( all on left edge) and 15 dead pixels ( 2 in mid and 13 on left edge)
It's obviously completely hit or miss on these and I'm starting to get a bit dissapointed.
Anyone would be disappointed with that number of pixels. That exceeds the number in the published policy for returns for dead pixels by a country mile. You should call them and let them know what a large number you received. I'm actually surpised it made it through the QC process. One innocent question, don't get upset? Did you clean the monitor to make sure that none of the problem pixels are not just dust. They are probably not dust, and I assume you cleaned the monitor to make sure. I'm just curious if they really let a monitor get through QC with that high a number of dead pixels on top of all the stuck ones that you had.
Hang in there though, and try to get another replacement. Follow the suggestion by Bullishdad and ask for one shipped to you overnight. It's your second one, right? If so, you shouldn't be asked to wait a long time, at least not terms of the shipping part of the wait. You'd be surprised what can be done, if you simply ask the right way.
