I am also interested in getting some HyperX, but I just thought of somethign. This may be a foolish question, but with the heatspreaders that came with the Kingston HyperX, did the RAM fit ok on the 400SC mobo? I was looking at the slots, and they look a lot closer together than any of my previous computers. Or did you have to remove the heatspreaders first?

I was able to use my HyperX in slots 2 and 4 (the 2nd slanted slot, closest to IDE connectors). The first slanted slot I could not fit unless I wanted to remove the heat spreader.

My Corsair XMSPC3200 did NOT post ... Buffalo CH-5 (2x256) works great and is recognized @400/ dual channel.

Does anyone have any reasonable idea if Dell will be running these 400sc deals again for the free 2.8 or 3.2 processor upgrades?

It seems in both cases that they did this it was around the middle of the month.

I dodn't know,But I do know this My Dell 400SC shipped @ $560.94 I was able to get a Credit Twards the Ram and the HD for 178.47 for a Total of $382.47 shipped Befor $100 MIR =Ending Price out of Pocket $282.47 + Ram Upgrade.......Now thats a HOTDEAL*!*

Hot Deal? Not any more - Dell "modified" the buy-back program due to such abuse. The program was never meant as a way to strip-down and sell-back portions of a system.

Dell now requires that you purchase "upgrades" either prior to or at the time you ask to use the buy-back program.

I'm not sure about this But I do know this I have a DPS# which stands for Dispatch Number in dells system,this is for confirming the Transaction to be set in place....I was told to send it directly back to were the parts came from..........I will not say here if this is the NEW CASE on the Matter.....But there is no stopping my return,based on when the Parts are recived this Distributor is not DELL.....It was sent in Care of Dell to the warehouse....When those parts arrive they have to credit my card .*!* I knopw this for a fact because I have done a return to this exact location through STAPLES befor with the same process as described by the Dell DPS operator.....When my shipment arrived @ this location I was credited in less than a week.....

Just got my latest dell coupon.

Tried to apply the coupon to a 400SC and found out the 15% off coupon is for any server EXCEPT the 400 and 600SC.

Wonder if dell is selling too many or Mr Billy G is getting ticked off at all these cheap "servers" used as workstations without paying the MS tax.
